œaœa
Alright so I just built my first computer. Everything turns on perfectly and I can get into the BIOS menu. However, When booting up the computer it says no hard disk detected. When I go to the BIOS menu, i see it is there along with my optical. I have a ASUS P8p67 pro rev 3.1 MOBO, samsung spinpoint 1TB, and an LG drive. I have not tried to install windows yet. If I don't go to the BIOS menu, I get a message saying "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Instert Boot Media in selected device and press a key" Please, I am so eager to get this comp going! Kweckzilber
Your hard disk is being detected. Just that it doesn't have anything on it to boot from. Insert some operating system boot media and install it. Do you have a Windows\Linux boot disc at all?

What were you expecting? You need to put the Windows CD in to boot off and install windows, otherwise you don't have an operating system to use the PC. Sombra
Set the main boot device to a CD Drive and put windows in. Install, remove and change boot order to HDD. join the 11%
Kweckzilber
Set the main boot device to a CD Drive and put windows in. Install, remove and change boot order to HDD. That isn't necessary. If the hard disks are not bootable, BIOS will ask about booting from other optical media if any. That applies to CD/DVD drives as well.
