Hey guys,

 

This definitely falls on the programming side of things.

 

I've got a client who'd like to have a Data DVD created that, once inserted, autoruns a program that plays a video, then arrays a few files in a sort of a "menu" that can be navigated.

 

Is there a simple option for this? The main target would be PCs, but a PC/Mac combo would be best. Any help, or just pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Making a program autorun on Windows is simple. I don't know about Mac.

 

You can create a batch file (.bat) in the disc's root directory (or any other directory) with this content:

 

 

start <Path\to\program\that\runs\the\video>start <Path\to\directory\listing\program>exit

 

 

and add a file called "autorun.inf" to the disc's root directory with the content:

 

[autorun]open=<batch file name>.baticon=<your icon file, if any>

 

 

The part about the program to play the video or that to list directory contents will need some explanation.
