Original Light
I don't want it to get too serious. I know IV was, but don't start making me consider things such as marriage, taxes, bathroom breaks, eating, fueling up my car and more. Although refueling should be optional for those that still want it. I just don't want realism getting in the way of fun. In IV I fly out of my windshield way too much. It would have been fine if I had a damn seatbelt option, but apparently the game wants me to drive slow or something, which I never do. I don't want things like traffic laws. I mean, for f*cks sake I get enough stars from pedestrians struck and attack on a vehicle as is, I don't want to have to use the wanted down code even more. Speaking of attack on a vehicle, when I set a pile of wood or a desk in my house on fire with a molotov, those things are generally not considered vehicles, therefore I SHOULD NOT GET A STAR FOR ATTACK ON A VEHICLE. At least make it say "Arson" because I know a cupboard is NOT A f*ckING VEHICLE. Oh, just for a double negative so I can still get away with a wish, I don't want not to be able to base jump. I like base jumping. We also don't wan't GTA to turn into sims.

hitrho5
Things I DON'T wanna see in GTA 5: -Liberty City (starting to get bored playing in the same environment over & over again) -needing to refuel cars, like some people have suggested (I can see this getting tedious and expensive, if implemented) -less than 70 hrs. of gameplay (I beat the GTA 4 story in 2 days, I want more!) -a time setting before 2010 (I want a smartphone, GPS, & in-game Internet in GTA 5) -having to enter a Pay & Spray UNSEEN to remove wanted level (seriously! How am I supposed to get rid of a 6* wanted level at a Pay & Spray in GTA 4!?)

Mister Pink
you asked for opinions, here's mine. the basis of GTA IS money murder and mayhem, but you can easily tell, that GTA went into another direction, a more serious one. actions have consequences and you see that in GTA IV, no happy ending at all. well ok, I'll be more specific, I easily see Niko's and Johnny's motivation. But not Luis's. The weapons are optional, so I can choose myself to walk into a mission with only a pistol. But the setting? He kills over 1000 guys ane somehow stays sane, runs a legitimate business, but kills hundreds of cops because Yusuf wants a train? It didn't fit. If you remember the conversations between Luis and his friends, they said Luis was always a violent, cold, killer and that he wont change. This is in reference to him wanting to go straight and run clubs. Of course, his friends see this as a betrayal of of his gangster/thug upbringing. *Potential Spoiler* Gay Tony, gave Luis the opportunity to run the clubs as he thought he was just dumb muscle and Luis was very grateful to him as he gave him an opportunity to get out of the hood and do a legitimate job even though he had a criminal record. Gay Tony was a father figure to Luis and Luis was going to do anything to keep his bond with Tony. Although, there's one mission where we nearly think Luis has had enough of Tony but you know what happens. So, you see it all fits. I think you didn't quite get it. EDIT: To contribute to the topic, If it's set modern day, I don't want friends calling you. We can ring them. Also, everything in the game should evolve around getting some reward bet in fun, material in-game things like new cars/safehouses/clothes/skills or money. I like 'serious' things like dramas etc in film and t.v. In a game, yes some seriousness is good when needed but we can have a super-fun, believable and over-the-top (whoah that was crazy but they made it believeable/plausible etc) in a thoughtful and skilful manner. Basically what K2 said in his post about realism etc Edited August 17, 2011 by ThePinkFloydSound RUBBΣR░J♢HNNY (スオッ)

I don't even want to think about playing GTA on a pc. Like Rockstar is gonna hold back on the requirements for you pc-gamers. lol, the reason it works like crap in PC's it's because of the crappy job they did on porting it. It should work much better than on consoles. It actually does on good computers. Consoles are the reason they hold back on features and graphics. junkpile
So, you see it all fits. I think you didn't quite get it. I got it alright there but just mentioning how Luis is cold and you, the player himself CAN be cold and ruthless, killing lots of peds, doesn't go hand in hand with the rest of the cutscenes and story. he always acts like he wants to stay away from this past violent life. Both are great cities but London just felt like New York except a much smaller version. I think they need to use different types of cities. Chicago and New York feel like the same types of cities but Miami, Vegas, francisco all feel like different types of cities. I think the next GTA has to have a different feel to it than Liberty. I understand you dont want to see vice or la again buy i think theyre going to use a city that feel different to Liberty. The only ones i can think of that hasnt been used yet that would be suitable for a gta game are Paris, Madrid, san diego and houston.

There is nothing wrong with Rockstar putting in extra effort to make PC gamers a little more comfortable. @OP: Something I would not like to see is a repeat of TBOGT multiplayer. Everyone running around with explosive guns and instant kill helicopters was unbearable. Although I loved playing it online it could get a little annoying dying every couple of seconds to a buzzard. @aceofhicks: Seems like your more angry will the physics rather than then weapon combat. Those things seem to be a little more random with Europhia. I don't know if they have the technology to improve without using some crappy ragdoll physics like Saints Row has. GTAWithStyle
GTA is all about having fun because the very reason games exist is to produce enjoyment or in other more commonly used words FUN. let me tell you, I enjoy GTA IV, I have lots of fun. And guess what, I don't do killing sprees or randomly shoot people, roll over them etc. GTA could be even funnier to me, if missions would include much more car chases, non scripted ones, and none you end with lots of explosions, but simple car crashes. lol GTA really ain't the game for you then

You can disarm in IV by meleeing or shooting at the weapon. Since there isn't auto-aim on weapons it's a bit hard, but it's totally possible. As for melee disarming, keep hitting and if you're lucky you'll contact the weapon and it drops. Enemies can't pick up weapons anyways.
