Slamman
Anniversary report, We all owe him, weather you concede this fact or not, without Elvis, or the Beatles, this musical landscape (not the current mess) Would be altogether different! http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?ne...64443>1=28102

Slamman
I can do a short impression in his style, At least two songs. Anywho, a classic film moment and tribute is in the musical Mockumentary This is Spinal Tap. Presidential hopeful Michelle Bachmann made yet another public fallacy by saying it was Elvis' birthday, she's really not the right person to be running for President. Too many guffaws just like George W Bush had made in the past! Edited August 17, 2011 by Slamman
Funktipus
Anniversary report, We all owe him, weather you concede this fact or not, without Elvis, or the Beatles, this musical landscape (not the current mess) Would be altogether different! http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?ne...4443>1=28102 We also owe the musicians Elvis and the Beatles were inspired by and "borrowed" from. Yeah, Elvis brought the music to a bigger audience, but let's not forget the true founders of rock & roll. To Elvis' credit, he even said the music he was doing others were doing years before him. Mister Pink
This is from latter Elvis days but it's a classic video. (notice when he throws in "Shove it up your nose" don't remember hearing that before) Although my mate showed a good live version of one of his tracks where he starts breaking his sh*t laughing and changing the words. Slamman
Suspicious Minds is one of the best songs ever, basically, and because the cover by Dwight Yoakam is the first I heard it, and UFO's cover of MYSTERY TRAIN, just shows the songs, more then ELVIS as a cult hero, or more, it's something to take into account. More then a personality, he had some great songs. Nice mashup of Elvis and Frankie Edited October 29, 2011 by Slamman
