Punk-in-Drublic
I had an interview today for an admin position. I hope I get it because I think I did relatively well in the interview, however, alot of people were interviewed for the same post.

Mr.Mister
So I'm thinking of getting IT training at one of the tech schools next month. Not only would my job pay for it, I would move to a better position and get paid more. I'm only 18 and would be making good money. I like working with computers and figure that this would be great job experience that can help me push on to do bigger things. Is it worth it? Blades
I'm a freight forwarder / forklift driver. Basically, I work in a big warehouse that takes stuff in for the oil rigs in the North Sea. We organise it into containers / air freight / whatever, then it gets shipped out to the rigs. Boring, but easy, it's the best paid job I've ever had (quite a sad fact) and it pays weekly, aaaw yeah! WHAT!?
I'm an Environmental Well Driller. I took the job in the hopes that NASA would one day ask me to drill an asteroid on a collision course with Earth so that I may plant a nuclear device in the hole and save the world. This as you all know would give me the opportunity to kick it with Aerosmith. Now that NASA is defunct I am no longer confident in my career goals... but, hey. You win some and you loose some. SIKKS66
I stack shelves at a supermarket. Just finished my degree so now I'm looking for something, anything, that is even a little bit more interesting than the bollocks I do now. Jealous of my girlfriend. She went to work at a vets as work experience as a part of her animal care course and they ended up offering a role as a trainee nurse. She packed in her college course and now works there full time. Decent money, a job she loves, good prospects. It's bollocks. I stack shelves.
OchyGTA
I work in a chippy while I'm doing my a levels at college. I would take stacking shelves over what I do any day. Pay is sh*t and I stink of fried food when I get home but no where has work in the town I live in. I hate my job. But hopefully Tesco might be hiring once the uni kids go back

MadClownBadDub
Courier, basically. (I jizzed with glee when New Vegas came out, it made me feel like I'd be important after the bombs dropped. ) But I deliver packages for friends, family, acquaintances, and anyone I'm referred to. All over the U.S. But here's the kicker, it's no questions asked. And please, don't take that as me trying to sound like badass or any sh*t like that, but I just like to give people a healthy alternative to assholes like U.P.S who kick your stuff around. Peace of mind sort of thing. I stay out of the internet courier game though, I rely mostly on continued business from a few trusted folks. You'd be surprised how much cash is in it. But at times business can be a bit spotty, so I keep a light a day job at a record store. Life is good lads.

Looking in getting certificates, I would advise CCNA, any Microsoft server certs (can't remember the abbreviation) if you're feeling real crazy look into Citrix, a lot of businesses (well here in Australia anyway) seem to be real into virtualizing servers right now. PM me if you want some more one on one advice, I'm studying towards my CCNA now but I've spent a lot of time looking at other areas of IT and the certs that help you out. I was under the impression that police didnt have to be fit, because a lot of them seem like fatties I definitely require more experience with people, my communication skills are bad, people close to me always tell me I'm not good at making eye contact etc, I've volunteered a lot in the past, but right now I need some money so I'm trying to find a position that will pay and give me some relevant experiences that might suit getting a job within the police. Yeah it's the cardio that buggered me to be quite honest, you needed to cover a mile in a given time and I just couldn't manage it, I'm not fat just dreadfully unfit I'm generally a motor mouth so I had no trouble with the communication part of things lol. If you've got volunteer work that looks good on any CV cause it shows a willingness to work just to work, not for any return other that satisfaction in what you're doing. So it's always a Pro to any employer.
stinomontana
i recently try'd to start a eduaction as mechanic its like this school for grownups thats being payed by the state. i did all the tests that i was supposed to do to be able to start. but then they told me i should work in a garage and have some expirience first before i could start even though i started working in a car bodyshop for 1.5 years when i was 15, and i worked in a bikeshop for a year. so i should work in a garage first but i cant find a job without a diploma, and i cant start the education because i have to work in a garage first? doesnt make any sense to me. Law0070
mehh, since i'm only 19 i can't speak of a real job, looking for one now though (going to get myself informed in about an hour, might start tomorrow if i'm lucky, don't even know what i get paid) but I did quite some different jobs as a student worker...dishwashing in restaurants, serving food (2 days, then quitted, i don't like being in touch with the customers), being at the information/repair desk in a supermarket (makro, got fired, once again, put me behind the scenes, not in front of the public) applied for the army, physical tests 100%, intelligence i ended in the highest 5% category, but failed psychological test (you guys are going to think weird things from me now) and worked as a student worker to wipe the streets, apply markings to the street and placing signs... i like the diversity but i want something that requires physical AND mental skills...
