Now i don't mean to be rude or ignorant but people always say they can't cause it's in a different Era but just stop and think for one second and think to yourself who's exactly making the game? Rockstar of course so in other words they can do whatever they want. If they want another GTA with Claude or Donald Love or Kent Paul etc they will. The Grand Theft Auto III timeline is not necessarily over - but it is a different world to Grand Theft Auto IV - only the branding and certain radio personalities exist across both worlds. The reason for this was that we felt Grand Theft Auto IV was a high-definition experience and required different kinds of characters. That - and the fact that most people from the previous world are dead. Link Its not impossible for them to make a game that connects to III as they have said its not necessarily over, but I would say its unlikely by now, and if they do it will connect to the III series but not IV. None of them appeared in the IV series, so why would they return now? I could understand people like Lazlow returning, as he has appeared in a lot of the games, but I want R* to go and do something that is new and original, instead of doing a rip off from a previous era and using all of the same characters again. If he weren't mute, we could discover more of his personality and he maybe could turn into a nice remarkable character... as GTA III marked the beginning of the 3D GTAs, it deserved "a little more" IMO... at least, when it comes to the character being mute. OT: Anyway, of course I would like to see some of those old good friends returning to this next GTA, but we need to deal with the fact that their time is over... I think... Tomy1986 Posted August 15, 2011 Share Posted August 15, 2011 As many have said, IF we got to see a III Era character back in GTA V, I'd gladly get Mike Toreno back. Such an awesome (while still a bit jerk) character should be used again as a boss. And, of course, voiced by that rascal James Woods. I wouldn't mind some references to Tommy Vercetti neither (maybe some talk on the radio about his fate or how well is his Empire of Crime going now that he got "succeeded" by his son or one of his associates) or even working for him in a couple of missions because he's expanding his business "up north" again. The same goes for CJ. If the game is set in Los Santos, he should make a cameo somewhere, since by the end of GTA: SA he is basically one of the richest and most powerful individuals of ALL San Andreas state. I'd also want to know about Sweet's fate (CJ's brother). Again, if the game is set in Los Santos and if R* brings back old references and gangs, he should be still hanging around Gangton, green and proud. the nameless Posted August 16, 2011 Share Posted August 16, 2011 Unbelievable! @ O.P, I would love to see so many of them again, from VC: Kent Paul, Tommy, Umberto, Col. Cortez and his slutty daughter Mercedes. From San An: Carl, Cesar, Catalina (if it is pre GTA:III), Kent Paul (I know I said him already but he is one of the best characters in the whole franchise, and Danny Dyer just seems like he was made to be a GTA character), Macca, Truth, Torrino, Wuzi. Man, I loved San An, the only major character I don't want to see again is Ryder, but even he made me laugh at times. I know you are not meant to like them, but if a bad guy character is well written and well voiced, you just cant help it, ie: Catalina, Tenpenny, Pulaski (sadly, he can never come back, a replacement voice would just never be the same), Big Smoke. The III era characters were so much better than IV. Over the whole 3 installments, the only people I really want to see again are Packie, Brucie, Jacob and Yussif. If the game is set in 2012 with all the "doomsday" theories I could see him playing a similar role to Woody Harrelson's character in 2012. For the life of me I can't remember his name.
