lil weasel
Did you install from an Original DVD and are you playing with the Original DVD in the drive? Did you delete the GTA_SA.set file after reinstalling? Check out these references: Can’t save games Save Game error Cannot find save game directory. GTA SA not detecting savegame? these involve Vista, but check them too. Save issues with Win Vista ** can’t save game on Vista

lil weasel
the GTA_SA.set file contains config information from the last time you played the game. Since you have reinstalled it may contain outdated information which the game is trying to use. It is created at the end of Each Game Session, so deleting it won't cause any problem, and might solve your problem. Is your game installed by using an Original DVD? As using a backup or download (from other than Direct2Drive.com or SteamPowered.com) might also cause, unfixable, problems. lil weasel
You are running the game in W98 Mode? You are using Administrative Privileges? When you Uninstalled the game did you use the Games own Uninstall feature? Did your first install have a "Virtual Store" copy of the game? This may be a Hidden File: To Unhide Folders: START > User > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Folder Options> Show Hidden files and Folders. Was Win7 your original OS when you first installed the game, long ago?

lil weasel
so if you didn't use the Games Own uninstall feature How did you uninstall it? The next step would be to install the game in a different folder such as: C:/Program files/games/Rockstar... etc.
maky55
Using Add Or Remove Programs So I reinstall To A Differnt Folder? ill try that!
lil weasel
And,... ALWAYS use a programs own uninstall feature. Third party uninstalls may either not get all the necessary files or take too many away, which can cause problems.
