GR7
Make your own GTAV trailer synopsis, lets see if we can make a new D.T . Give a brief description and include stuff like the trailer's music or pictures if you want. Here's mine. The trailer starts with several grey scale shots of the ghetto and other deprived areas of Los Santos. The camera slowly climbs up a large hill, while the camera is still moving up the hill a deep voice slowly says "My mama always told me crime doesn't pay" the camera finally reaches the top of the hill where a man is holding a powerful sniper rifle while standing next to some sort of board. The man fires a single shot and pulls his phone out after which the voice coldly says "My wallet says otherwise" . The camera pans out from the hill and it is revealed the man was standing next to a large V which is actually part of the Vinewood sign, everything fades to black except the white V. Here are the Debut trailers from all the console games starting from III to TBOGT for some inspiration Edited September 19, 2011 by Gregers08

Adriaan
That's a nice little story there Gregers08 - I like it. Was thinking the other day similarly that, provided the location is in fact in the game, the Vinewood sign is used to crossfade into a "V" logo at the end. I've a feeling tho that the style of the trailer will be more similar to that of San Andreas Trailer #1 or #2 - rather than GTA IV's first trailer. So a lot of showcasing many things right from the start. But in terms of story, I'm not as creative thinking as you - but I personally speculate that it'll involve FIB Buffalo's and other federal vehicles, a mob character in a cut scene, countryside scenes, a drive down the game's equivalent of Sunside Blvd., a plane fly-by, and possibly something crazy and action packed like a scene with a Tank. darrellmonks
Guns n roses song you could be mine is playing in the backgrounds. In the actual video your see the main character taking order from a man simular to the godfather then the main character firing a mini gun at a large truck. A woman tell the character his pathetic then the main character jumps from a plane and opening a parachute then firing an uzi at people down below. Your character randomly driving a plane and people below firing at the plane. Your character firing missiles from an army chopper at a freight train. A young guy telling the main character he the best assassin in vice city. Then your character stealthily stabbing a guy holding a machine gun in the back then snapping his neck. Then some scenes of gun fight and hand to hand combat. Then the guy who looks like the godfather says to the main character "if you dont like this game son, then go ply something else". Then the music stops and an yellow and red V flashes up with the date 29.11.13.

Yeah I could see them showing alot more in the debut trailer this time around since the focus this time around will be more about the content than the tech which IVs trailer showed off very well. Then again I guess they need to save something for the later trailers right?
pdbq
In a reveal trailer, i think there wont be a lot to be honest, maybe a few shots of the location, but not much. In a launch trailer, it will have large set pieces and jumps and chases and explosions. If in miami, i dont see how R* could look further than will smith - miami That trailer could be epic if done right, i could also imagine a pretty awesome trailer of los santos with it showing the ghetto with an old school hip hop track playing, then moving onto the hollywood area. I'm going to try and change your favorite trailer by showing you San Andreas' second trailer (which in fact does feature a Guns N' Roses song!!!): Though I guess you had to see it in 2004 to really appreciate it. grope_4_that_date
SONG *EDIT: JUST THOUGHT OF A BETTER IDEA. starts off all black. You see Rockstar's logo and something in the background you can't make out. It's all nightshots. Then, more shots of things that you know looks like a city. THEN THE SUN RISES IN THE CITY. SMOGGY SKYLINE. Immediately recognizable. The sunrises like this It's hard to make out certain shots, due to sunlight glare. More shots of Los Angeles. Shots get faster. Shots of landmarks from the car in SLOW MOTION. Similar to the beginning shots of the Midnight LA trailer. [0:08-0:12 - ] a strong, low black man voice says "I've killed people. raped people. and shot my own brotha'. Can ya dig it?" offical "Grand Theft Auto 5" logo "Comming Soon" fade to black Edited August 14, 2011 by grope_4_that_date

LoveMediaExecutive
I think the first trailer we'll see will be like the trailer for GTA IV, it won't reveal any action sequences and very little about the plot or characters but will show off whichever city it will be in with clips of some of the monuments and maybe one shot of the protagonist. Although I wouldn't be suprised if they started off with a trailer with a brief 10 second clip of a song from the game against a black screen then the song fades as a "V" or whatever title for the next game fades in then the date fades in below the logo, heck that's all they would need to show to get people excited until the game's released. Welcome to the jungle is best song in any GTA, and radio x is my favourite GTA radio station. And welcome to the jungle is by far a better song than king ring an i did see the san andreas trailer back in 2004 but imo the gta 4 trailer 3 was an overall better trailer. Slamman
A sh*tload of stuff from cutscenes etc, where you can't really tell the location. Then in the end..... there is a tiny detail that if spotted, reveals the location. You're thinking back to Blue Spot and the map in a still for GTA 4? The trailers STYLE separates GTA and Rockstar from the pack, They fold out things with pacing and one thing at a time for the trailer style I'd believe was honestly coming from them Everyone recall there was a black and white trailer getting VERY much attention also atributed to Deep T back before GTA4 launched, I'd heard it was from another game, but even now, not checked that rumor, we just know it was fake because the pacing and style was off. The trailer showed the person slipping a nondescript PS3 game into their console with GTA IV dashboard, and it was very captivating to users here, I shall find it again if people want it referenced in here. FOUND!! YEAH! The idea that made people curious is the waiting of course, and how Rockstar would properly unfold the intro to the game I saw a fake "5" trailer the past few weeks on YouTube where the lack of originality showed in that the ROCKSTAR screen logo animations were from Vice City Stories, trying to fool anyone with that is beyond me Edited August 14, 2011 by Slamman
Yomomma916
The song was gangsters paridise In a subway everything was slow motion blood everywhere, bodies, money in the air then it zoom into cj with a uzi in his hand and said''i run everything now''then a bright yellow V at the end. chuckberry04
The first trailer should be like the walking trailer from GTA IV, altough now he has a purpose (other from stealing a car). Actually I'd like a combination of the Vice City and GTA IV trailers. If I remember correctly the GTA IV trailers where a bit too dark and serious for me, while GTA is about fun , freedom and action and thats what the Vice City trailers reflect perfectly. Or maybe that just critic on GTA IV + the reason why many people didn't really like GTA IV. Why so serious? GTA IV Vice City

zeppelincheetah
i love the idea the tc came up - with the sniper and the "Vinewood" sign. my idea is a teaser: there's a quick flash of the "R*" logo with the sound of the crack of lightning. the screen goes black again and as the sound of thunder roars the blue "Rockstar North" logo flickers on the screen. flash to a city intersection - pouring down rain with very realistic rain effects. there's an old camaro knock-off stopping at a red light, the view switches to inside the car and we hear music - "Down on the Bayou" by CCR with a man drumming his fingers on the steering wheel to the music and bobbing his head. all of the sudden someone opens his car door and he's thrown out - this new person is the actual protagonist (we had been watching a ped in real time). the music keeps playing as he gets in the car and slams the door. the view changes to overhead behind the car and since we're away from the car the music stops. the light is still red but the driver peels off. then in the blink of an eye several parts of the game are seen, each only a few frames. While this is happening there's a fast jazz musical piece that matches the fast paced scenes. there are 10 scenes: 1 a menacing looking gang neighborhood with a house party full of gang members, 2 the main character on a jet ski, 3 the main character on a dirt bike out in a forest, 4 a drug deal going down on a sunny day in the suburbs, 5 the main character walking by women laying out by the pool, 6 the main character flying a small plane, 7 2 cops riding on segways pursuing the main character whos on foot, 8 the main character using an AK shooting someone off screen 9 the main character playing texas hold'em, 10 the main character driving an acura knock-off off of a bridge - off a "unique stunt" ramp. then the music stops and the screen fades to black then a large white "V" logo appears, it becomes highlighted in black as the screen fades to white showing the price is right font "grand theft auto" in black. it fades to white then "2013" appears in blue in the same price is right font

Another saying "And no matter how hard I try to get rid of them, they will always be in my head" fades out, Seeing a person sitting next to a plane window, only his body not the face. Plane lands see him walk out, camera goes up spins around his body, and there he stands, Packie McReary, camera flies up showing the city in a 2D perspective, and we can see that he's arrived in Los Santos.
