Midnight Special
The world will end if Justin Bieber marries Rebecca Black. Seriously, I don't give a sh*t about it. You all know that there's a rumor going around that the world will end in 2012. That's just total bullsh*t. Hell, I don't know when the world will end. Live and see. eHanHz
We won't know how/when the world end (universe) if we don't know exactly (100% sure) how it started in the first place. If Big Bang theory still proven right (tough it is not quite now), then the whole world will end at some point. When entropy being evenly distributed (maximum entropy reached) throughout the universe, then at that point our world will come to an end. It is called heat death. aStiffSausage
World won't end soon. I bet it's the question that has lived in humanity since inventing fire. There's no answer for it, that time will come, it can be huge surprise for everyone, or it can be slow destruction. And like fireguy109 said, it's not the world that will end, it's the humanity which will end. I'm believing, that the new virus-cure that was produced not long time ago and is still in tests, will have something to do with the end of humanity. I just can't believe that some medicine could find infected cells from healthy ones. And Big Bang theory... Maybe, if there has been already infinite numbers of "worlds", each collapsed into tiny space, causing new big bang, and repeating? That stuff just goes over human mind, no one can travel back in time or investigate it accurately enough to find out how everything has began. Blades
There are two phenomena we could take in consideration too: the Big Bang, an explosion, and the Crash Bang. As everyone knows, the Big Bang is what caused the birth of the universe. It pushed everything from its point of origin away to create this big and unknown world (Earth, space, and all the other planets, stars, etc.) The Crash Bang would be the oposite: it would take back every to the point of origin. That would be the real end of the world for the whole universe. Still, after some time or maybe even right after, another Big Bang could happen creating another world that might be either different or similar to this one we are living in. Which Big Bang are we on? We may not be the first iteration of Earth. History could just be repeating itself over and over in exactly the same pattern with exactly the same events. Starting with the Big Bang and ending with the Crash Bang, then starting again, like a broken record. I am somewhat inspired by an episode of Futurama though (season 6, episode 7) where Professor Farnsworth builds a forwards time machine and himself, Fry and Bender end up travelling forwards through time to the point where the universe ends, then the Big Bang occurs again, then they travel throughout history up to the point where they left. They then miss it and just go "Ah well, we'll just go round again!" (then do a driveby shooting on Hitler on their way past, lols). I'm also intrigued by what will happen on December 21st 2012. I'm tempted to just run around the streets with a sign saying something like "The end is nigh" just to take the piss.

Original Light
I read that in 20 years (also on the news) that a large meteor will hit earth. Very big which will cause a lot of damage according to scientists, they can't shoot it or we will have 5 of them the size 2x the size of our moon coming to earth. If they hit the ocean, then it will cause a a flood, while anywhere else will knock the earth right out of orbit. Russia is building a space craft to deflect it. While NASA is assisting them in the plan.

BabeRuth
they say it'll end in 2012. does anybody believe that.? Not really but I´m looking forward to this day in somekind of strange feeling/scary interest. Why would you want the world to end?! Anyway, the person who said the "word" will end in 2012, is a liar. Well, the world ends every day for some people. I didn't say it'll end in 2012 dude I asked if anybody believed it would end in 2012 you need to read what i said carefully & i was the one that said it. iBall.
No one has a set death date on the world. it'll end when it ends, and from my view it shouldn't be feared, sure it's horrible at the thought of dying, but everyone dies at some point anyway. The world ending would probably just be a new start.
K^2
Well, the Sun's due to barbecue this place in 5 billion years. So that's a certain end-date. On the other hand, something big can smack into Earth pretty much whenever. And if you don't feel that's likely, go outside and take a good look at the Moon. Yeah, that happened. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.
WF the Hobgoblin
240 years time. Humanity will get f***ed by a bad case of global cooling. While everyone's running around trying to keep warm and fighting for resources, a meteor the size of Tel Aviv crashes into Los Angeles County and wackiness ensues. Just guessin'. 1st gtaROCKER
Actually, the World will come to an end sooner that that. There is hard fact that their is 100-150 years left of essential earthen resources. That's what scientists say, anyway. But if not that, then this. The Earth is slowly spinning out of orbit, away from the sun, caused by a combination of the Earth's non-sperical shape and the gravity of the Moon. It's not going to be milions of years, either. Eventually, life on Earth will literally freeze to death, before the Sun has even chance to get hotter. Off-Topic, but related: Also, I'd like to say how Electric Cars DO NOT save the planet. Guess what, Mr. Nissan Dealer, Electric is made by burning OIL, in fact Electric Cars use up MORE of the Earth's resources than an average petrol car. So you'd be helping the world by buying an economical petrol car than an electric car. That's right. Electric cars are less planet-friendly than normal cars. Luckily our atmosphere is able to protect us from what happens more often to the Moon, but when something along the lines of a Shoemaker-Levy happens to Earth, it's certainly the end.
