junkpile
The first ever GTA was released in october 1997 that makes the series 15 years old in october 2012 which is right in the middle of the most widely accepted predicted release date is it coincidence or could this exact date or a date near it be the release date of GTA V. 15 is a grand old age for a series like GTA and R* will probably make something special for the celebration. Could "V" be that something special i only thought about it recently and i think it could, what do you guys think ?. is that so? well, my prediction is 0ct 2012 at the earliest. sometime in 2013 seems more likely to me though. Could "V" be that something special i only thought about it recently and i think it could, what do you guys think ?. a lot of people have mentioned the fiscal year of April '12 to March '13, so that could work out. Some people are also saying that that R* could ANNOUNCE GTA 5 this October, the 10th anniversary of GTA III. We'll see what happens at Gamescom. The 10th year anniversary of III is what im going with. GTA 1 and 2 are almost different games. Then again, why not celebrate both?

ryan_J
I can see a 15th anniversary celebration, and at the very end.. "Oh btw here's gta V." Thats the exact thing R* would do, they know V is huge but they go on like its just a minor release. Classic R* style.
ahash08
I'm sure that they will release the game on thier GTA 15th or maybe they will give surprise to everyone like, They will make Vice City, San Andreas, or maybe London in HD and Plus they will make new GTA 5 with more things or maybe more cities in one game like peoples said in wishlist. TenEightyOne
We're going round and round with this... and the base truth remains the same. We'll know when we know - everything is interesting conjecture at various levels of merit. I like the idea of the 15th Anniversary thing if the dates are correct - but something tells me that R* know they'll sell plenty regardless of such gimmickry. Thats the exact thing R* would do, they know V is huge but they go on like its just a minor release. Classic R* style. classic R* style? like it's a minor release? never. Info gets leaked online and R* will play its part. Think about ANY major title R* is developing, developed or played a part in, most recently RED DEAD REDEMPTION MAX PAYNE 3 L.A. NOIRE AGENT As soon as they got something, they will show or let the info slide in...either way Between the release of the first screens/trailer to GTA IV and the game itself, a whole year passed. Same with RDR and L.A. Noire. Over a year screens or videos turned up, official ones, by R*. They announce their sh*t BIG, not minor. It hasn't been their "style". Look at Agent, all we got is a sh*tty Logo and the announcement that this will be their new action-franchise, same sh*t with MAX PAYNE 3. GTA V is their most valuable since GTA is their trademark. They won't drop it minor.
Duxfever
GTA IV had that because it was delayed. IIRC, it could've been released only a few months prior to its release. He said they go on like it's minor, not that it definitely was. It makes sense. You could get used to them giving out loads of information through the Newswire from Red Dead Redemption and L.A. Noire, then all-of-a-sudden, the biggest hits (GTA V/Max Payne 3/Agent) you'll get the lesser information because they're the most anticipated. Having you wait a long time for real information, and once the official hype begins, you'll only be getting a release date and a couple of trailers. It's agonizing, but it adds a lot to the hype. The Notorious MOB
I think this is a likely scenario, announcement in October 2011 and a release next October however Rockstar do tend to focus on only one game at a time as far as news is concerned. With the RDR fan appreciation DLC coming in September I think they will then turn their attention to promoting Max Payne and then Agent however they could easily announce GTA V in october and let the buzz settle in for a month before starting to promote MP3 In November. If I'm not mistaken promotion of GTA IV began in March 2007 and the game was initially supposed to be released in October 2007. That's 7 months between announcement and release which is consistent with their other titles such as L.A. Noire and Red Dead Redemption. Assuming that they are going with a thing of releasing the games on a particular of the series Then Max Payne 3 should be released in either December 2011 or January 2012 which means that an announcement of the release would have to be made very soon. Alternatively this could be the announce date. Right now the official release date being set for MP3 and Agent appears to be the biggest influencing factors on the announcement of GTA V. Jackal1337
i think it will be released in october, since its 3 months to every year COD at that point, maybe they release it like IV, at Q2, in april, so theres longest possible time between COD and GTA... We all know sadly that COD will sell more than GTA, cos everyone is all hyped for COD
zeppelincheetah
well since IV was supposed to be released on the 10th year anniversary but was delayed, I say expect April 2013 release on Playstation 4 and Xbox [Next] j/k, j/k what was 5 year? Vice City. I think V won't even be announced until next year and won't be released until 2013. in the meantime, Agent will come out next year (probably on the 15th anniversary of GTA) and will be sexy as f*ck we'll have to wait until the 20th anniversary of GTA, when GTA VI is released 20 years to the day after the first one. LCMetro
I dont think they will make us wait until October 2012. We have already been waiting damn near four years for this game and they have given us absolutely nothing (Duke Nukem Forever anyone?). How long does it take to make a goddamn videogame?! Time to sh*t or get off the pot Rockstar.
Verdant
Very true. If this happens then this year will get something about the game. Let's say a hint of where its set? Or just the characters. October 2012 will be the release date is what I've been thinking now once I looked through this topic. Although Rockstar is going to be working on Agent and Max Payne 3 but there are many videos and websites saying that Rockstar is working on GTA right now as we speak. But Im not positive about that. So October 2012 is a very well predicted release date I hope we get some more evidence a long the way. Great Topic .
zeppelincheetah
extremely doubtful. I say no earlier than 2013. remember they're making Agent first, if anything Agent will be released then.
Dasimpsonian
How bad ass would it be if they made it so you could fly between Los Santos vice city and liberty city. Wasn't it like that in part one. We could be reading the plane ticket hint all wrong.
jgallagher
oct 2012 is a good date but if i were R* i would annnouce sometime b4 next year, release april/may or june and some DLC oct cus they would make more money saying they want $2 share by 2013 fiscal. Catwalk
Of course V is in development. It's R*s biggest franchise and just because they are working on Max Payne and Agent doesn't mean they aren't working on V, I'm sure R* knows how to multitask and multiple resumes from current/former R* employees posted on this board have shown work either on V or an Unannounced Title. Will it be released before Max Payne and/or Agent? Doubtful but not impossible seeing as we still don't have a release dates for either and both were announced in 2009. I personally still think an Oct 2012 release for V is highly possible. If Take Two is really serious about achieving a $2 share for fiscal 2013 (note that not even RDR got them $2) then releasing Agent, Max Payne and V in that period would almost certainly achieve that. However I don't want to get my hopes up just to be let down, so my advice to everybody here is to enjoy the hell out of the games that are coming out in the near future and before you know it V will be announced and released and all this waiting will be a distant memory .
