ryan_J Posted August 13, 2011 Share Posted August 13, 2011 The first ever GTA was released in october 1997 that makes the series 15 years old in october 2012 which is right in the middle of the most widely accepted predicted release date is it coincidence or could this exact date or a date near it be the release date of GTA V. 15 is a grand old age for a series like GTA and R* will probably make something special for the celebration. Some people are also saying that that R* could ANNOUNCE GTA 5 this October, the 10th anniversary of GTA III. We'll see what happens at Gamescom. Either way (LA or VC), GTA 5 is going to look ****ing awesome! Still, there are reports that R* was doing research on Hollywood, and doing voice work with CJ's voice actor. And let's not forget Niko's plane ticket from LC to SA at the R* SC. Not to mention the whole "Genesis" thread........Sorry dude, looks like GTA 5 is gonna be in LS at this point. pdbq Posted August 13, 2011 Share Posted August 13, 2011 If it happens I think it will just be coincidence, Do people celebrate 15 Years of something, I always thought it was 10,20,30 etc, maybe I'm wrong, but yeah I think gta could be announced either at gamescom or VGA, or a separate r* conference similar to what cod are doing this year, I always said that 10th anniversary of III looks promising but im starting to doubt that now. Maybe Rockstar is looking at what Capcom is doing with the whole 'Resident Evil' blowout THIS year and saying to itself: "This is a good way to go. We can dominate an entire year by releasing HD ports of our older GTA titles throughout the year (since it's highly requested) then end it with a brand new game in Q4." Catwalk Posted August 13, 2011 Share Posted August 13, 2011 Just seems to me that all the stars are aligning for an Oct 2012 release, the fiscal projection, the years in between games, the fact that R* loves releasing GTA in Oct, just seems right. What I can and would like to see is something like a HD collection of the 3 PS2 games and the stories or if they really want to do something crazy a fully 3d version of GTA1 where we can seamlessly switch from 3d to the classic view similar to Halo anniversary. The long list of big summer releases will have passed and it will be a few weeks prior to the Christmas releases, maybe next Christmas everyone can avoid the disappointment of another new COD and get GTA instead As I recall, San Andreas was released in October...
