vancar6
Hey guys! I have an mid 2011 iMac in Windows to play GTA 4 on. Specs: 4GB DDR 3 ram. AMD Radeon 6750m 1GB Intel i5 Quad 2.6 Sandy Bridge Windows 7 Ultimate Most upto date GPU drivers and the up to date patch. It runs bloody beautiful. But it wont play properly!!! Every few seconds it will skip ever so often and go in slow motion for 1 second (not lag but like a 1 second freeze it runs really well if you exclude that. ). Sounds like a memory leak to me. I have tried running everything in the lowest settings. 800 x 600 res even,it still does this annoying "slow bug". It even does it on my gaming system (Reason why I have the iMac is because I program iPhone Apps). Gaming Systems Specs: 4GB DDR3 Ram GTX 570 1.2GB i7 Sandy Bridge 2600k @ 3.4 Ghz Windows 7 Ultimate Most upto date GPU drivers and the up to date patch. It still does this weird glitch on both my systems. BOTH SYSTEMS HAVE JUST BEEN FORMATES AND GTA 4 IS THE FIRST GAME WE INSTALLED. So why is it doing this? Please help!! nightwalker83
Do you have any other program such as anti virus which might be causing the problem? Did I read correctly and that you are running Windows on an IMac?

mkey82
Is it lag, stutter or slowmotion?
vancar6
Is it lag, stutter or slowmotion? Like said in the post, it is not a frame rate drop. It just skips and goes in slow motion for 1 second every 1 second. Its the worst when in a car.
mr robville
i'm having the same problem aswell. the FPS is ok, the game runs very smooth, but every +-1 second it slows down and speeds up. this does for walking as for driving as for moving the camera around. and as far as i know it is an FPS Buffer issue caused by the latest patch. there is no official way of fixing this at this moment, only lot's of tricks. trying to disable the windows event log didn't work for me aswell as closing background programs. the only thing that worked for me is putting all settings on high or lower instead of very high. because especialy the shadows ask a lot (too much) of CPU/GPU power, it's an unoptimized feature of the game that needs to be fixed.
