gtafreak102
Should the protag take damage in car accident? Like your head hitting the steering wheel. It would amp up the realism
matajuegos
IDK if this goes here, but screw u mods, yup, i'd like to see the protag to get killed in a car crash, that will be surely included in the next gta if R* is pointing to realism
sonnyBlack
God, I hope not. It's things like this that chip away at the fun in these games.
Dymez
I'm on the fence with this one. I would like it but, I also like taking shortcuts by driving off of cliffs and missing railguards on the highway. I guess if you hit a brick wall hard enough, you should most likely die. I'd say, it depends on what car you got. They should put airbags in certain cars in the next GTA; with the option of putting one in an older car by customization. If you're riding a modern day car, the airbag should deploy and you only receive a small amount of damage. But if you riding in that old hoopty and you didn't get it customized, you get hurt real bad or possibly die. They wouldn't do that though because stunt jumps have always been apart of GTA's make up. Doesn't bother me either way.
XxDylmeisterxX
It would be pretty good to have that in it. Being in a high speed police chase then you try and turn a sharp corner and skid into another car or something and get inured/killed.
Racecarlock
This is not a good idea for someone who likes to crash alot. Like me. It's already annoying enough flying out the windshield all the time, I don't want to deal with this too. Maybe make it optional, but for gods sake don't force me to drive slow or carefully, that's not what I play GTA to do. 2K Mafia games are the ones that go for realism, not GTA. Or do you not remember that mission in BOGT where you stole an APC by shooting out the pins holding it to an air crane with a sniper rifle and escaped the cops by blowing them up until they backed off? God I love that mission. But I don't want this.
Nah Tso Gud
Eh, I don't know..it'd be cool to have this in a "simulation mode" like how the old games had simulation and arcade modes..( don't know if that'd be possible with todays GTAs, but thats a whole different topic ) Peds dying and honking the horn with their lifeless heads, and falling on the gas speeding and swirving away = awesome... But I dont think it'd keep its charm when it happens to the player... Maybe if they happened to make the move to regenerative health.
coin-god
No. I have a mod that does that in IV, and beleave me it gets annoying.
Zirvlok
I'm going to have to say no on this one. Like Racecarlock said, flying through the windshield is annoying enough, but dying in a car crash? That just wouldn't work for me. I get in high speed crashes alot, especially when in police chases. All this feature would accomplish, atleast for me, is get me very frustrated. Nervesplitter
seeing how going to the hospital after death costs 11k and I'm also crap at driving at high speeds I'd say no. and we need seatbelts
Finn 7 five 11
No. I have a mod that does that in IV, and beleave me it gets annoying. Save it, it makes sense, but really, but in grand theft auto ramming cars and smashing into things is one of the highlights of the game, Taking damage will just ruin it for me, flying out the window in high speed crashes is as far as i would like it to go. This is definitely a no. By the way, i still fail to see how rock-star is leaning towards "realism", the only more "realistic" things in IV were better graphics and better physics, but they are things that every game maker tries to achieve. xFeashx
I don't think its that great of an idea. I mean sure, if you use cheats is as easy as using a health cheat every time you wreck, but it would be a nuisance for non-cheaters. Having to drive ever so carefully to avoid having to go find health. As far as "realism", I think this would just be going to far. Realism does make a good game, but theres a point where too much realism has negative effects on a game.

Good = Physics, graphics, pedestrians, attention to detail (ups boxes on every street). Bad = Dying by getting shot with 1 bullet, going to jail for long periods of time, having to have a job and kids ect ect. Thats why i don't like people using the term realistic, because it could mean a very large variety of things, good and bad.
Algonquin Assassin
It's already annoying enough flying out the windshield all the time, It doesn't really happen "all the time". I've had countless head on collisions where Niko hasn't gone through the windscreen. It only tends to happen in special circumstances. This is another complaint like the friends calling all the time I find is highly exaggerated. Anyway no I wouldn't like this. We can take damage from people shooting at us in vehicles as it is. Actually I really like this as it makes parts of the game where you're being chased by people shooting at you more intense. I can't remember which game it was, but every time you hit something it would take away health and too much the protagonist would die. It became quite annoying. Realism is fine, but it doesn't need to got too overboard.
AndrefromEstonia
To make GTA more realistic, this has to be in the game. In Mafia 2 the same thing was in.

But in Mafia 2 you have health regeneration. Indeed you do, but when you crash a car at high speed into something you die...kind of stupid but realistic. Actually the thing is, i want cars to react to speed more, that they would be softer. I want the front end of the car to crush in and the passenger compartment to crush too. Then when you survive the driver would come out with low lives. Also if the car is veery crumpled, i think the driver should come out struggling. Pushing the door open and squeezing himself out of the car. We need more animations in the game.
tranceking26
Maybe you suffer damage in some cars, but in things like the APC you don't even get a scratch. Just as long as you don't die every 3 minutes in a car crash, that would suck

chuckberry04
At high speeds, the impact should be so high that your guts are splattered all over the places. That would be the best drive safe campagne ever.
grope_4_that_date
Nope. I like flying out of the front window, tumbling 30 feet into a wall, and being perfectly fine.
CommonSeb
Hell yeah! It should be partly like IV. If you wait a couple of seconds after entering a vehicle the protag should put on his seatbelt so you will take little damage in big crashes. And I f you start to drive momentarily without seatbelt you can take alot of damage or even die in crashes. And yes, flying out the front shield is awesome. Would make the high speed chases alot more exciting.
DarrinPA
I really enjoy driving and flying. I don't want to deal with worrying about crashing just for the sake of health.
CommonSeb
You guys do know that the reason you fly out the front windshield is because you don't let nico put on his seatbelt when entering a car, right?

mediocore
I'm unsure on this one. I would like some damage as long as it was done properly unlike the debacle of receiving damage when you step off the pavement. I would like it if they amped up the realism with the way you get away from an accident. EG, if you're in a big car crash your car won't start and you have to abandon it and you leave the car limping or something.
gta_fan28
Just like in Driver parallel lines. The player will take little damage when crash on other vehicles or wall depending on the speed of collision.
paul
It's not called: Driving slow and safely simulator 5! Driving fast doesn't mean you can't be carefull. I can drive reasonably fast on IV without crashing , except for the occasional taxi crossing the intersection ahead of me.
SchizNitz
if there was taking damage in car accidents there should be an option to turn it on/off. If not no. Just no!
junkpile
Should the protag take damage in car accident? Like your head hitting the steering wheel. It would amp up the realism I'd like that idea. Like having a freemode and two players collide into each other on the Algonquin-bridge-highway.
