I downloaded the trial and played the sh*t out of it and then bought and downloaded the full game... but now, catch this, i cannot shoot, buy guns, crouch, or do anything but run around... Vanillainy Posted August 23, 2012 Share Posted August 23, 2012 Right on the edge of buying this for xbox, used to play quite a lot of CS:S on PC but I've pretty much just played on console for ages now. I had doubts about CS on Xbox but it's not as bad as I expected. Messed around with the bots in the trial version and first game online on Inferno I went 7 - 0. Just really not keen on the party chat being disbaled, I don't want to talk to random twats, ever. Haha, go play Crossfire and all the other clones then, they're woeful. Got this on both PC and Xbox, and it's class. Loving it, really. Source was almost a decade old and still felt like a mess compared to 1.6, whereas this is barely out and already feels more refined despite having its own issues. Unplayable for me on Xbox though, supremely laggy networkwise, I think it's a combination of it being peer hosted and my already dodgy connection. You can see some of the lag here, sigh. Its really starting to piss me off when I can only play about 5 minutes before it craps out. I'm not sure why Valve seems to be lacking in dedicated servers for their console games. TF2 never had any, and the L4D servers have been having problems for the past few months. I know a lot of companies don't provide servers or shut them down within a few years, but come on Valve, you could at least make the game playable without lag at launch. It's definitely a serious problem when it occurs on every single game they produce. I'm guessing Portal 2 didn't have servers either, not like it matters as much there though. I still wish there was the ability to pause in offline bot practice, and the ability to customize settings in bot practice. Would be nice to change what weapons they have, allow them to go rouge, change the time for the bomb to detonate, change the money you start with, etc. I'm practicing my aim and map strategies in single player before I go back to multi . edit- another annoying thing is that when you change your crosshair from dynamic to static, the game doesn't save the setting. It will always be reset to dynamic when you restart the game, although your color will be saved (gee that helps). Man has the game changed, nowadays it's all about skins and how much your inventory is worth, but to be fair unboxing an expensive skin must be awesome.
