I'm a christian but I have nothing against homosexuals at all, but some people have told me I'm homophobic for calling them or other people fags. What do you think? To be honest I don't think it's a word or phrase to be taken seriously anymore seeing as how everyone uses it. Especially as most simple minded peoples number one insult being "your a fag" or something sort of variation of that word into a mindless stupid meaningless sentence. Does it make you a homophobe...? No, because it doesn't really express any hatred anymore. Homophobe would imply that you would kick the sh*t out of someone for being of the homosexual nature, or even worse kill them. However some people take offense to it, I just laugh. Because what is a fa**ot? back in mid-evil times a fa**ot was a bundle of sticks/wood that they'd burn heretics or witches on top of. Or commonly known in the more British setting, a fa**ot is a cigarette. Really in my opinion if I were a homosexual man I would not be offended by the word "Fag" but more rather something like "puff" or "fairy". ygbbrazy Posted August 12, 2011 Share Posted August 12, 2011 I believe, like they explained on South Park's episode with the bikers, that Fag or fa**ot has nothing to do with sexuality and is intended to describe anyone who is annoying. Fag meant queer or homosexual a long time ago but nowadays very few people use fag with that intent and calling someone a fag is like calling them a jackass.
