It says that they were kicked from Google+ and they're going to create they're own social networking site called Anon+. Apparently the op was supposed to just be the creating of a site to topple facebook, but some took it as a call to arms and wanted to get rid of it. I don't know.

I barely use Facebook these days, I stay in contact with my friends through my cellphone (blackberry), so I guess there's no need for me to go on Facebook on a daily basis like I used to.

 

As for the attack, I doubt they accomplish anything with it, seems to me that they're doing it for the attention. Like Zilcho said, announcing this attack now gives the Facebook people a lot of time to prepare for whatever they're planing.

I don't really care if this ends with Facebook being down for a day or them failing completely. It's kind of nice to have it there, but I can do without it. Realistically, they'll fail, because how do you DDoS a site that has half the world on it?
