Nebby
Well..Rockstar did say they would like to use it...and the technology is great, so why not?
Finn 7 five 11
Well..Rockstar did say they would like to use it...and the technology is great, so why not? He may have been hired for a number of reasons, it may not be GTA related, but really, one graphics programmer from Team Bondi doesn't automatically mean Motion Scan. Facial Motion Scan will probably be a part of many games in the future, but i think it more likely when the technology becomes better and cheaper, La Noire only used it because it was an essential part of gameplay. In fact i think the facial animations in Uncharted are very very close to real life, considering how good animations are i don't think the extra money is really necessary. Original Light
GTA 5 should already be done. Why would they start to hire now?
Staten
It's probably the last push to finish: all games have them apparently. If they're as far along as we hope they are, they'll be in testing right now, and testing throws up a lot of bugs. Early-to-mid development is about getting the game to work and late development is about getting it to work well.
Fraizer
Wanted to make a new topic about Linkedin, but I searched and found one from a year ago... Anyway, a QA (Tester), who tested both first and second passes of what I am assuming is GTAV. Here Can anyone enlighten me on what first and second passes are? This guy Also, he recently left R* North and when browsing through Linkedin, clicking on the "Viewers of this profile also viewed..." list. I found a lot of people that have just recently left R* North... mostly QA folks. Also left in June. Also left in june. Also left in June. Found This guy interesting. He works on the multiplayer testing. I dont know if there are just less testers needed, meaning GTAV is nearly complete, or if these people did sh*tty jobs. I am thinking the first because A lot of people leaving so close together like this, usually means they are no longer needed because a project is nearly completed. Edit: f*ck! I had this posted in another topic but I didnt copy the links! Damn it! Anyway, here is the Multiplayer Guy and Here is first and second pass guy Starting from these two you can find the ones who no longer worked at R* North after June through the links on the right. Trund
GTA 5 should already be done. Why would they start to hire now? Probably because R* is not only working on GTA V. They should also be working on Agent at the moment, even though this game officially doesn't seem to make any progress. But I guess it'll come eventually....... Interesting. R* North hired beta testers back in January for a 12 month period. Keep in mind, I think (if I am wrong, then please correct me) they probably keep some beta testers after release for a few months so that those people can test launch day bugs, patches etc in order to help the devs provide post-release support. @Rpg_ Perhaps. But it says R* North. And R* North are the ones that create the GTA games. Bully is done by R* Vancouver, tho they have now merged with R* Toronto. Red Dead is done by R* San Diego. R* North in Edinburgh solely works on GTA and sometimes helps the other studios on their projects when needed. EDIT: Just to add, R* North also worked/is working on Agent. But they said that after MP3, GTA V is their next game. And we have nothong on Agent to even think it's in beta stage so....pretty sure it isn't that. AtomicPunk
What does an it manger normally do within a games company? Tries to recover lost game design files You'd have to be out of your ghord to honestly think or believe that a company like R* would "lose" files. They back up every step they make and file it, it's a religion. I heard that theory before and it's a stupid one. No offense, of course.

Yeah, but in that screenshot with the helicopter and laser at night, the windows on one of the buildings was a flat texture. I don't remember any of the buildings in GTA 4 being like that. So they could be putting that in for filler because the game isn't as far along as they'd have us believe.
