Why should I feel pity for them? Because they aren't getting enough social help from the government? It's their f*cking choice, either deal with the situation you've got but don't drag others down with you, who have managed to make something of their life.

Because they live in a society that makes them feel like nothing. They feel like they're CONSTANTLY being picked on, hence they become chavs. The community treats them like dirt because of their social status, then when they try to get noticed they get labelled as "criminals" and you're upset that they won't respect the community that ostracised them? There is no such as respect unless it's mutual.

 

Like I said before, when you think about the future for humanity, are there still chavs and riots? If not, what happened to them? Did we forgive each other and find harmony, or did we put them all into camps and kill them? What other options do we have, or do you think the fighting and separation will never end?

And I'm a British citizen with 100% of my extended family living in Scotland, and a good deal of friends throughout the British Isles. Britain is like a second home to me and I intend to move there permanently when it's within my means, I'm not just talking about the ideal solution because it doesn't effect me either way - it effects me greatly. Do whatever you want mate - give in to the hate, but the satisfaction of revenge doesn't last. Love totally does though.

Eye witnesses have now claimed that they saw a number of yobs with wire cutters on them to break into mobile phone and other electronic shops. And the streets of London look as if a tornado ripped through it now, there is rubbish, glass, clothes, smashed cash registers, burned out cars, you name it it is in the streets.

Sky News is finally showing video feed of what it looks like in Bristol after the clashes last night, it ain't as bad as London but still it's quite bad, the yobs set a car on fire and targeted a probation centre.

Watching the live news coverage last night just left me absolutely f*cking enraged. I reject any kind of commentary on why they are doing this, what their motives are, what they're trying to change, who they're trying to get to listen, etc, etc. This is absolutely nothing to do with anything that is going on in this country or the world. They are totally brainless, moronic, soulless nothings. Thankfully the news has stopped called them protesters, but even the word 'criminal' is evocative of some form of motive or some kind of personal gain. These idiots are burning down their own communities and they have no idea why they're doing it. This is just copycat violence, perpetrated by collectives of the absolutely scum of society. In a couple of days, they'll be low on milk, walk to the burned out husk of the corner shop they burned to the ground, and then probably kick off because a new one hasn't been built yet.

 

The response from the police was/is pathetic in the very literal sense. But then, what do people expect when the reaction to any overreaction by police is met with loud public outcry, countless 'independent investigations', and the power of the police being somehow furthered neutered. The army should have been brought in, the groups should have been backed into side streets, and disabled through whatever means they're still capable of using - tear gas, water cannon, whatever. Chasing them down the street every now and then is just going to get them all riled up.

 

The reaction from certain public figures - Ken Livingstone in particular - was sickening. He blames the government, the mayor, even the bankers! At what point do people because so destitute that you can't attribute blame to them anymore? I certainly didn't see David Cameron or Boris Johnson participating in these riots, and I do not believe that this total senselessness stemmed from poverty or underinvestment.

 

I don't see how I that I'm even of the same species as these people. Just looking into their eyes, you can see that there is nothing there. Some human-shaped husks that ought to house some essence humanity which has somehow got lost. Probably looted.

The army could never really be called in until a COBRA meeting had taken place. What with Call-Me-Dave off on his holidays, and scheduling a meeting for 9am today instead of ASAP, or immediately via a video link, you do really get the impression that he feels like he's doing us a favour by cutting his holiday short. It's just the poors attacking the poors, it can wait 'til morning.

 

At least we might see some definite action now that COBRA is under way. Tonight is where the government makes its stand, they were caught unprepared last night. I don't think anybody saw so much escalation coming. But they should be ready by tonight and they're getting quite a bit of time to prepare for it (not nearly enough as they should have had but still). If it can't be stopped tonight, I fear we'll just end up waiting for it all to burn itself out.
