There is a war on dammit, cotton is hard to come by especially since Alderaan, which was the Alabama of the Star Wars galaxy for reasons social and economical, was the largest supplier of cotton and since the destruction of the planet which the Empire would have you believe was due to Climate Change, not to do with the Death Star (pure coincidence they say), the supply of cotton has plummeted, so they adopted the war time attitude of Make do and Mend and recycle clothes now.

 

But five minutes earlier on Bespin Lando was wearing his regular clothes. Why bother changing clothes when you're on the run from the Empire?

 

I need to get you a copy of Tatooine Vogue, that was clearly Polyester he was wearing, and as he left Bespin he was helping Luke Skywalker back into the Falcon, now if you remember Luke's hand was all cut off and bleeding everywhere, because his Dad cut it off for wanking too much because Luke liked to think of kissing his sister and it got him all hot under the collar. Anywho the Jedi blood of Luke is full of Midichlorians and because Lando wasn't that bright... I mean we all knew that Vader was going to cross him, except him cause he's a little slow and got he short Tyderian Shuttle to school, he thought that Midichlorians were an infectious disease and would make him have sexual feelings for his family as well. So he bundled his clothes into the Proton Torpedo's he loaded onto the Falcon when he blew the sh*t out of the second Death Star.

Of course, there are a lot of different shades of grey. My argument is that not all are worth supporting, from the point of view of the guy with $50 million mansion at least. A bit closer to home, I personally much rather donate to cancer research, and do so often than to the poor. Which coming back to my original point is why I said "same" sense of social responsibility, one might feel stronger to one cause than the other.

My theory was that he had a quickie with Leia in the the back of the Falcon, but I guess yours makes more sense.

Why do people automatically assume that really wealthy people don't donate anyway? Out of touch? I've seen a lot of elite people donating. Do you expect them to donate ALL of their disposable income? I feel the same way as much as you. I really prefer Slamman to stay here for a long time here and he was actually pretty good all around despite posting almost off-topic wherein sometimes it makes sense. But let's not wallow sentimentality and leave it be for now. We don't want this thread to end up discussion with him.

I wouldn't begrudge how you give to charity, just whether or not you do.

 

my only point for having stuck my foot into the discussion was that - generally speaking - I give most poor/destitute people the benefit of the doubt.

being poor isn't fun and I'm willing to bet that most of "them" have been/are constantly trying to positively improve their situation, but most of the sh*t that falls on them in this world comes from above; they don't just wallow in it on purpose.

You could always become a voice actor and then become successful , then you could report back in to us about how much you made.
