Yeah there's nothing wrong with you avatar. You must just bhe seeing things or looking at it with a poor quality screen.

It must be my eyes.

My Desktop screen (which I'm using right now) Is 19" Full HD. So no hardware problems.

Okay thanks guys.

Must be my eyes then :monocle:

I also recommend you always using PNG formats for images. It's better if you want to have a high quality picture.

How come most of the world calls soccer football ?

Football as in the game that is played during the FIFA World Cup is actually called Association Football but is generally just shortened to Football. In some coubtires they refer to Association Football as soccer. The "soc" from Association. In many places the term football is used as a category to cover a wide variety of sports that require kicking of a ball. And when someone says football it normally refers to the most popular foot type game. Example in the US, football is gridiron. Here in Australia, football is rugby or in certain states its AFL (which is sort of like rugby but only played in Australia). In those cpubtires they refer to it as soccer to distinguish between which sports they're talking about.

Define "cheaper". Less costly as a proportion of income, less costly outright or less costly once purchasing power is taken into account?

Trick question. It all depends on where you live in the U.S. as well. For example, I have a 5 bedroom 2 story house near the Corvette assembly plant that only costs me $950/month to rent. Whereas that same $950 MIGHT get you a sh*tty 500 square foot studio apartment in Seattle.

Ive always heard that generally speaking the UK is more expensive because of the housing costs. Real estate and rents in the UK are generally more expensive for less. Where a 1 bedroom apartment may cost you $600-$700 in the US it may cost you about $1000 in the UK after the currency conversion and all. Of course that isn't always true though. I have found 1 bedroom flats in the UK that are comparable to ones in the US. in price. Less square footage but same amount of bedrooms and bathrooms. Its all about geography

And exactly as Devyl said. In some areas you can rent entire 5 bedroom 3 bath houses with a full yard and a 3 car garage for less than a studio apartment in New York or San Francisco.

But I believe generally speaking the UK is more expensive.

Why do people tend to assume that you're a prick and/or have a massive ego if you buy a high-end car? I see assumptions like that all over the internet, most of them are stated as if they were facts. This is just so ignorant to me, has the thought ever crossed their mind that so and so bought his or her BMW or Audi or Mercedes simply because they like the car or just like to drive? How can people be this rubbish?

I agree. I hate that stigma as well but I think it's something here to stay because people are always going to be jealous of people who are wealthier than they are. So when they see the guy in the 7 series or S class going down the road they say things like "What a prick" or "Bet he's a dick" instead of saying the truth "I wish I had that car"

Exactly, it's jealousy. That's why some people call others pricks and douchebags when they have nice, fancy cars. They're just a bunch of jealous little crybabies, that's all.

What's the difference between a porcupine & a BMW? On the porcupine, the pricks are on the outside!

But seriously though, My girlfriend (22) & I (31) deal with this on a daily basis because of our car. We drive an Infiniti; and when she's by herself, she's heard people say things like "I wonder who she's sleeping with to drive that car". I've had people tell me I was a douche for driving it.

But hey... if you got it, flaunt it; amirite?

Agreed. :^: Whenever I see a decent car that I don't see everyday, I just admire it and wonder what it's like to drive. I don't go, "Hmm, what a c*nt!" I've noticed the instant judgement is worse on those that buy those seemingly "pointless four-door coupes" such as the Audi A7 or BMW Gran Coupe. I was reading an abysmal review of the RS7 on the Top Gear website and the comments were full of, "What kind of gawdy dick would buy this car" or, "These are cars for tasteless plastic surgeons and doctors" like seriously? What do people get out of this? What do people get out of making jealous remarks about anything in general? It just makes you look stupid, so why not just keep the comments in side of you and shut up?

Anyways thanks for the answers.

What the f*ck, I thought that only happened here in Brazil.

I have a '06 BMW 1 series (which is one of the cheapest models from BMW) and I worked for it, and f*ckers look at me with that angry, "what a prick" face, get close to my rear bumper at a traffic light (just happened 20 MINS AGO)...

When I'm working, not a single f*cking person comes to say "nice, you're working! good for you!" but when I'm driving OR drinking with my friends, people act like f*cking assholes.

f*ck all the stupid people in this world, get butt f*cked by a donkey.

Why is Lando wearing Han's clothes in this scene?

Link to comment

Isn't that just a standard Rebel Alliance uniform of some sort? Han was some kind of rebel soldier before he was stripped of his rank, or am I getting my facts wrong?

RFtroopers1.jpg

I'm pretty sure Han's wearing his old uniform in the movies. He has a red Bloodstripe on his pants which is some kind of reward given by the Corellian military or something like that.

hansolo.jpg

So I'm pretty sure Lando's just wearing a standard uniform in that scene.

I might be talking complete and utter crap though...

Because sometimes they are. The other day, was driving and this guy in a nice car(don't care what kind) infront of us was driving super slow and was flashing his rolex watch outside his window as if too show off that not only was his car nice, but he has a nice watch too. Then when we stopped at the intersection and the light turned green he revved his engine obnoxiously loud and sped up super fast, probably trying to show off too. I'm not saying people in general with nice cars are dicks but this is just an example of how high some people's ego's can get if they own one.

'Sometimes' can apply to any group; doesn't mean a stereotype is automatically attached or should be. It sounds like you're taking a single experience and using it as confirmation bias tbh. Some people with sh*t cars have massive agos and like to show off, too. Case in point-- a sh*tbox 1988 Supra with a $5k system in it that you can hear coming from two blocks away.

My guess would be a bag of Otter food, a few of those tiny cat food tins for Kirsty, and a box of padlocks for Raavi.

As the other guy said, sometimes applies to everyone. :bored: I've seen trucks and piece of sh*t Civics ride my ass, seen people in front of me in run down cars drive as slow as possible or try to takeoff ass soon as the light turns green.

Honestly, I can't stand this attitude towards certain people with nice cars, it just makes people look uneducated. If somebody did what you described right in front of me, I don't think I'd really care. Hell I'd probably try to catch up to it and get a better look. I honestly don't see how revving is so annoying to some people, I mean who really gives a f*ck?

Are these watches for men or women?

Seriously, I can get these ones for a very good price, considered they have Swarovski crystals in them, I just can't tell exactly if they are supposed to be for men or women.
The case is 13 mm thick, diameter 38 mm

For dress up the Light coloured one is womens, but with uni-sex now-a-days either can be worn by a woman. Only a sissy-boy (aka: girly-man) would wear the woman's style. :)

There's no hard-and-fast rule when it comes to modern luxury type watches, but generally stuff under 38mm diameter looks quite...dainty, shall we say, on a man's wrist. I'd generally class something 38mm and relatively non-descript as unisex if it were in a darker colour. But there's nothing unisex about Swarovski crystal.
