How big is 'your' TV? By that, I mean anyone who wants to address my Q, refer to your biggest TV to date, and any side story about how you got it? HDTV, standard, CRT, plasma, LCD? Etc.

Forty-two inch Vizio Smart HDTV, because I had trouble reading the tiny tiny script of the PS3 Games.

Goes to show how the new games are so freaking lousy graphics, the GTA: San Andreas I played easily on a portable six inch screen.

I have a similar background haha, though while we were still in the heyday of the CRT I had gotten a nice Samsung that was 32" I believe, they wanted $50 for it. but the casing had a small crack near the power cable so I was able to talk them down to $45. so I bring it home and it works even thought the color is a little messed up in spots, I figure the previous owner was having some fun with magnets haha. I didnt like the fact that there was a crack so I hunted on ebay and craigslist for another TV of the same model but one that wasnt working so I could get it for cheap. A guy was selling one for parts but it wasnt the exact same model haha though they looked almost identical. I was able to buy it for $15 and I had someone take me to pick it up. When I got home I was disappointed to find that even though they looked very similar the cable and inputs were in different spots but I realized that the casing was in slightly better shape that the working one I had purchased previously so I decided to gut them both and put the parts from the working TV into the shell of the non working TV. It seemed to turn on and everything but I couldnt get a picture haha. I'm now in the process of cutting a hole in the back of the shell in order to get the parts to fit correctly. I'll likely end up buying another TV for delicate parts that I think I may have broken while taking them apart.

I'll make sure to post regular updates on how it's going haha.

As a story add for my question, my first HDTV was a Viore 32 inch I still use, I bought it from a pawn shop for $260 and before that I had a 32 inch CRT Toshiba I also bought from a local pawnshop that cost me over $500 at the time. I then found a 26" HD 'ready' set someone took out to dispose of in the middle of winter, but no real damage, just an audio issue and power supply failure. So I still have that one, Magnavox brand, and weeks ago, just as winter was concluding this year, found a 47 inch LG TV also down an alley being disposed of. So far, still not working, two power boards later and it seems I replaced the wrong board, but it's gonna be pretty nice having nearly 50 inches of flat panel goodness once I get it up and running, and the satisfaction of repairing it myself!

Hi, guys. I have a question about video cameras and I need an advice.

I'm gonna need a digital video camera to record some stunts etc. for my friend's videos and since we don't have one and have very limited cash resources, I was wondering if anyone could suggest me a couple of relatively cheap video cameras to record with? I need something that has a good resolution, fine sound and that its recordings can be read by Adobe After Effects or similar PC programs.

Thanks.

What's your budget? Depending on budget, I'd say Sony or Nikon. Both come in some decent prices. Depending upon your choice of lens and pixels, take a look at some products. Coolpix A & S series are some decent ones. Here, take a look.

How long can last a nuclear weapon?

You mean shelf life? About 25 years but various components are replaced and renewed because most warheads are kept disassembled.

Sponges are nether square, nor talk, nor make friends or be in a possible gay relationship with Starfishes called Patrick, your question therefore holds no merit.

Why does spongebob live in a pineapple? They don't grow underwater.

Stephen Hillenburg (Spongebob's creator) said he chose a pineapple as it smells nice & smell is important for sea creatures (he's a marine biologist).

It fell of a merchant steamer. Edited by lil weasel

There was a Spongebob episode in which they explained how the pineapple appeared. Don't remember it, though.

Why does spongebob live in a pineapple? They don't grow underwater.

We're talking about a show with talking sea creatures who drive boats, eat Krabby Patties and are capable of starting fires underwater. Is that really the main thing you're concerned about?

Are the wires etc the first to fail? I imagine the "fuel" must be good for a lot longer than that.

Not to mention that they have underwater pools. Edited by Andreaz1

I would imagine that the first thing to degrade is whatever polymer/plastic-bonded explosive that particular warhead happens to use- TATB, RDX, HMX, PETN or a blend thereof. They've all got defined shelf lives and given that they need to be operating within very strict parameters to ensure a multi-stage nuclear warhead detonates properly and doesn't fizzle, essentially leaving you with a dirty bomb, I reckon they're probably the first things to be swapped out.

The answer to all Spongebob questions is the fact that they all live beneath what was once a testing area for nuclear weapons.

Radioactivity can do some pretty strange sh*t.

IPB offers the option to edit the post-count through the Admin Control Panel. It's very simple actually, as it is just editing a number, and it can be done on any registered account within a few seconds.

Not true at all. In order to lose about 1kg in a week you need to have a caloric deficit of 550 or so, But that doesn't mean you need to burn 2550 calories per day, because the caloric deficit is measured from your normal daily intake.

So if you normally eat 2000 calories each day and wish to lose some weight, you only need to burn about 500 per day in order to see a loss.

Oh okay, thankyou. I have seen many different answers for this and I was very confused. To be able to lose atleast 1lb, what Is the mimnium amount of calories I need to burn, in order to lose 1lb a week?

Get the 'Banquet' meals (1$US each) eat one each meal, drink water.

You won't need to exercise any more than you do now.

To lose 1lb a week you need a caloric deficit of 275 or so, calculated from what you're currently eating. That can be made up by eating less, or by eating the same amount but incorporating a 20 minute walk into your daily routine.
