When GTA3Freak-2001 passed away who communicated the news of his death to the forum? I stumbled upon his profile as I was digging through some old posts earlier today and Im a little curious. Im also curious about Knife as well. Who told us the details of his death?

As far as the ither members we have lost over the years, know that you're speaking about our friends, and that many of us are friends outside of this forum as well. So yes, in some cases it's firsthand knowledge, sometimes it's family or friends, and sometimes we discover on our own.

 

It's a subject that calls for a little tact and respect, though, if you please. I'm gonna remove your last post, in that spirit.

I was just curious. Because we are pretty much all relatively anonymous here I was just wondering how the forums were alerted. Im sorry if i pissed you off or something

Like what Otter said, a lot of members know each other outside of the forums. Either through playing different games, Skype/MSN, Facebook, or even meeting each other in real life. So when the tragic when one of dies, if that someone knew people outside of the forums, news will hit us. Though this only works for people that knew each other, if you just post here, chances are no one will know your death.

I believe it is completely unnecessary. 99%+ of users here will not pass away during the time we are on the forum or our presence on the forum is even relevant. So what is the point in keeping tabs on each other to report on an event that will most likely never happen?

For an example me, I know something will happen to me for sure. As you know I like to longboard and its hard being safe when you have a lot of idiotic drivers here. You don't know how many near death moments I had this month alone just from drivers who can't keep there lane. I've seen drivers driving right beside me or purposely swerving into me. I also tend to do a lot of stupid stuff, like this one time last summer I was trying to save my longboard after I bailed off it and it was going down a busy road. Knowing me i was stupid enough to chase it down while dodging 4 cars speeding up / down the road and almost getting nailed by a semi truck. Plus my health isn't that great either as I mentioned in other threads that I'm in the hospital for heart problems or huge chest pains. Plus I'll risk my life to save another life if I had to, like push them out of the way of a car that's going to hit him / her or put my life in front of someone else. So yea I'll probably will die from one of those as scenarios but since some members live where I do, hopefully they'll recognize me on the news and post about my passing on here. Plus I got several members on Facebook ( including you ) so you would know if I passed or not.

I will probably meet an untimely demise as well with my sh*tty health plus poor eating habits and my wreckless lifestyle. But most people on here won't. So those of us who are prone to accidents and poor health will just keep in touch with each other on Facebook. But it's unnecessary for most members here. And also who's business is it anyways if a GTAF member dies?

RS5 for sure.Both wrong. As a driver's car the M4 is almost certain to be better. And performance saloons are designed to be driver's cars, no?

Depends on how careless you're to leave your personal details on websites or forums. It's Internet. You can't trust anyone. One of the reasons why you always need an alias is to keep yourself anonymous.

Just type your name in google and you'll find out. If you're lucky you'll find an email (especially if you use [email protected]) and after googling the email you'll probably find a bunch of websites where you used that mail, depending on how much the site cares about user privacy

I was just curious how easy it was for you personally to be found. I did some searching of a friend's friend via a username they use on a forum and I could pinpoint their home address, first, middle, and last name, as well as their Facebook profile by using their forum name, all in less than 10 minutes.
