Providing you have no serious outstanding medical issues the chances are so small, the chances of dying on the way to the dentist in a traffic accident are probably higher. So drive safe and don't worry about the dentists.

Let me just put it this way, back in May of 2012 my mother went through some of the things I posted on Yahoo Answers in front of everyone in the house and it was incredibly embarrassing. I have been paranoid of somebody sifting through my stuff ever since, and even though I have nothing to hide these days, I still somewhat overreact when my mom wants to use my phone or my laptop. How do I get over that?

Get a guest account and make them use it. You aren't overreacting and your internet activity is private.

Sure, but entitled to privacy doesn't mean they don't have a right to know anything. I disagree with Melchior's assertion that at 16 your parents shouldn't be asking you where you're going or who you're hanging out with if they choose to. As legal guardians they have a responsibility to know.
