I'm just tired of people giving the mods crap over nothing considering they're volunteers.

Yeah, I'm assuming you're talking about me (among others) Finn? No one's giving the mods crap. I just posted that rhetorical question because I'm at work and I clicked on the member photo thread expecting nothing out of the ordinary. I come back to the forums 10-15 minutes later, and there are dicks all over the place. Not ideal for the workplace now is it? Luckily I'm using my phone, but it's still possible for my co-workers or whoever to see what I'm doing...

 

I just didn't expect those pics to remain on here for that long, tis all. Like EphemeralStar said, just wondering when the mods will show up so that I can safely browse the forums again.

Saying "Where are the mods????" definitely sounds like condescension to me, as in "Where are they? Why aren't they doing their job."

Nobody asks that rhetorically just for the sake of conversation, it's a put down, deny it all you want, but you were obviously upset about the penises and decided to go ahead and get mad at the moderators.

I'm sure on the 'offensive things to say to Asians' list, it's probably pretty low down there. Though apparently Asian slurs aren't that offensive at all. I was always surprised that Scrubs used the word chink as a light hearted joke in that respect. I'm not sure about America, but in the UK it's pretty damn offensive to call a Chinese guy a chink.

Hi, guys, a quick couple of questions, I'd really appreciate as much information as you can give me . I've posted these questions in the ''Vehicle talk'' subforum aswell, but I saw that there's not so rarely a ''couple of days gap'' between posts, so I figured I'd get a much quicker response here. It's about Diesel engines. Please, only the knowledgable folks considering the questions.

 

I'm getting myself a new car and I'm getting from a petrol engine car to a Diesel engine fuel car. So, I'm new to Diesel cars and I've heard something about the important differences about the petrol and Diesel engines.

 

 

Firstly, I'd like to know if it's true that (when the engine is cold) I need to start the car and then let it just work for a minute or so for the oil to flow through before driving? Since, in petrol cars, you could've just start the car and ride instantly, but as I've heard, if you start the Diesel and drive right away, you can screw the engine and a whole lot more up.

 

Second question is related to the first actually. I've also read it's important to do the same thing before turning the car off after driving. Is that true? After driving for a certain period of time and getting home, it's better to leave the car to work in one place for a minute before turning it off?

 

Also, I don't know if it has anything to do with my questions, but the car I'm gonna get has more than a 100 HP and running with a 1.9 JTD engine, so.. I'd appreciate if anyone could tell me a little something about this subject.

When I had my diesel (1982 GM Regency, sold it in 2010):

The engine 'warmer' was plugged into the electricity for cold weather overnight.

This kept the engine sump oil warm for easier turn over.

The engine fuel line was warmed by internal elements when starting the engine. A delay (30 seconds) while the fuel was warmed. A light on the dash panel lit when it was ready to turn over.

Important was to add a 'reliable' approved additive was needed in below zero (f) winter conditions or the paraffin would separate and clog the fuel filter. Also we have 'winter grade' diesel fuel in my area during the cold weather, which contains that additive.

 

Those who didn't pay attention to the simple winter care would have to wait for the weather to thaw out their systems, or keep the vehicle in a heated garage.

I haven't installed any app in a long time. This began to happen the weekend. It happens when I'm browsing the Internet.

Sigh. You overreact too much. Honestly, if there was a mod who actually took offence to that guy asking where the mods were while that other guy was spamming his dick pics then they would have stated so.

 

Also, personally for me I don't like referring to people as specific colours because technically "my colour" would be red because I'm native, however I'm pale as f*ck. So the idea is quite silly in my eyes.

I think, it might have ended up being a side-effect of there being 3 groups in the qualifiers. There is no way to organize the brackets in such a way that leaders of two groups don't end up playing in one of the semi's. If it's just luck that A and B groups ended up being so much stronger than C, that's probably the reason for it. But I don't know how teams were seeded into groups. If they seeded them by ranking going ABCABC..., then it's really stupid to put A vs B in the semi's.

 

But yeah, the way brackets are now, final game won't be half as exciting as either of the semi's.
