The internet is probably the best place to go for creative insults, so I might as well post this here. What's a nice, polite, PC way to say someone is a total f*cking asshole? Referring to a historical figure here, btw.

Would you ever have sex with a midget?

Of course. If I liked her and she liked me why wouldn't we bang? And im talking about a midget. A dwarf would be a little sketchy but maybe.

I was just watching a few old videos of MettalicBill (Slamman) where he was just showing the day when GTA V trailer was released. Here:

Apparently, I just noticed that there was a private forum to talk about Slamman. I was laughing REALLY hard and fell off my chair. Is that forum still existing? Lol, I would love if it could become public. :D

It is probably some sort of infantile anti-semitic comment that has no root in reality. I wouldn't think too hard about it.

I AM SORRY ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE VIDEO, BUT MY WEBCAM IS ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH.

Quick question to science/environmental experts. *Ace looks at Panz* :p

Anyways I've been reading that Yellowstone is 40,000 years overdue for it's eruption. If it does erupt it's effects would probably push humanity to the edge of extinction. So my question is will it erupt in our lifetime i.e. in the next 100 years or so?

Thanks in advance.

I've got another science question for ya.

So the Sun is basically a giant fireball, right? and we know fire requires oxygen, fuel and something to ignite it (It's already on fire so we'll remove the ignition for now)

What keeps it burning?

the way I heard is (simplified):

The way the Sun "burns" fuel is completely different from the way a fire on Earth burns (the term "burning" is a bit misleading when used to talk about stars). The Sun gets its energy by smashing small light elements together to make heavier elements; most of a star's life is spent smashing hydrogen atoms together to make helium. The burning that a star does, then, is a nuclear reaction, and not a chemical one like the fires on Earth (when a candle burns, the atoms themselves remain unchanged: just the molecules are affected).

I don't really know much about Yellowstone and its volcano, but I do know that the site's geologic activity really hasn't changed over the years, so I don't know how its eruption would necessarily be "overdue". There's no predicting when a volcano might erupt, but with more recent technology, I believe scientists can at least detect changes in activity for up to months ahead of time, maybe even more.

And I doubt it would push humanity to extinction. The lava wouldn't go too far, and the only real danger would be the ejected particles into the air. That would probably cause a great deal of pollution and contamination to ecosystems and water supplies and agriculture, but I don't see how this could destroy humanity. It might affect a large portion of the U.S., but that's it.

We'll probably need the population cut soon, anyway. :sigh:

Thanks Panz, I was just asking because I was reading quite a lot of articles over the fact that it could push humanity to the edge of extinction or maybe it's just rumors?

The last time it happened was around 640,000 years ago so the chances do seem really slim. Like you said I can't see it affecting any other continent other than North America, maybe pollution but I just wanted to check anyways. :)

An eruption from Yellowstone and the subsequent ash cloud would directly affect nearly all of the continental United States, Southern Canada and Northern Mexico, the longer term affects of ash and volcanic chemicals such as sulphuric acid would have long term effects on the rest of the planet once the prevailing winds, jet streams and water circulation have distributed the output. There are plenty of prediction maps on Google images and most depict the direct effects covering the Pacific seaboard, the Rockies and as far East as Eastern Texas longitude, but the fallout would cover most of the Eastern Seaboard and would pollute the Atlantic before the jet stream carries it over to Europe.

There was a great BBC Documentary (maybe on YouTube somewhere or on the BBC iPlayer) about it a couple of years back, which went into it in a whole lot more detail, but the upshot was that America would be f*cked, South America would be f*cked, Europe would be partly f*cked, Africa is already f*cked, Asia after rubbing their hands would eventually get f*cked, Antarctica would be a greyer shade of f*cked and the Aussie would just puff out their chests and tell the rest of the world to "man up you bloody bunch of Sheila's"

Weather will be affected world-wide, which is very likely to be detrimental on crops. So hunger in 3rd world countries is pretty much guaranteed. In US, things would be really bad. Much of it destroyed, rest rendered virtually uninhabitable by the fallout.

Best guess anyone has is eruption in the next 10,000 years, with a huge uncertainty on that.

Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.

Thanks Crokey and K^2 but what exactly makes the guess that it would erupt in the next 10,000 years unlikely?

Going back to the height/midget thing (instead of opening a new thread);

What are your guys/gals ideal heights for men/women? Out of the three serious relationships I've been in, all were around between 5'5/5'7. I never actually measured them! - just a rough estimate, and what I recall they each felt they were around. I'm 6'1, so I don't like my girls too small, otherwise it can create rather awkward situations when trying too kiss; and generally just feels weird. But anywhere between 5'3/4 - 5'10 is my ideal height for women.

Yours?

I'd say, stop getting the blasted tape measure out and love your girl/guy for their personality because that's what real love is all about!

It's interesting because I'm finding sources that are saying these claims of "world destruction" by the eruption are way overblown. Most I'm seeing are saying that it won't really affect more than a portion the U.S. Of course, the ash cloud will travel, but how significant will the effects be? There's really no predicting that until it does erupt, as we don't know for sure how much of anything will come out of this thing.

Ok, settle down there Casanova. If she insists on getting the measuring tape out for reassurance, then so can I!

5'5" - 5'7" sounds about right. I'm about 5'11" tall, so if she's about half a head shorter than me, it's perfect.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that. Surely you wouldn't date just anyone (with a nice personality), regardless of their looks, now, would you?

For me, the importance of the characteristics of a person is probably a 50-50 split between looks and personality. Or at least that's the ideal situation. Sometimes I tend to like girls right away for their looks, but I can easily be turned off by their behavior (if it's malicious). So yeah, first impressions are usually mostly about looks for me, but long-term exposure makes personality traits probably at least as desirable as good looks.

Thanks Crokey and K^2 but what exactly makes the guess that it would erupt in the next 10,000 years unlikely?

It's not unlikely but it's an uncertainty as Vulcanology (the study of volcanoes not Spock) is still a developing science, much like the study of Tornadoes, accurately predicting Volcano eruptions is still quite tricky, and there is no real foolproof way to detect how and more importantly (for human civilization purposes) when a volcano will erupt. That's why we can't be certain when Yellowstone would actually erupt as the geology for a such a supervolcano is makes it hard to analyze compared to a smaller volcano like St Helens for example, as the whole of Yellowstone is basically one giant volcanic crater.

Smaller Volcanoes are 'easier', to use the term relatively, to predict when they'll erupt but the output and effects can be lot harder to tell, for example Eyajelly-jakie-joe-full on Iceland spat out huge amounts of dust a few years back and disrupted flights etc, but one of the predictions was that it was about to go full teenage rant on the North Atlantic, but it didn't. However there were some predictions that it was just going to be smoke and ash, which it was.

So a friend of mine downloaded Snapchat thingy on my mobile 3 days ago, today my crush added me and I almost got a heart attack because I'm shy when I'm around someone I like, what should I send using that application I haven't send her anything and I'm not sure what to send?

Well 4 monthes ago I went to work (this work was just for 2 weeks) the first day I saw her but didn't have a crush on her yet then on the third day I was writing a form which I had to deliver each day (what I have done for the day) then she and her friend came to the room and was going to write the form as well then I heard her speaking to her fring stuff like talk to him and stuff like that, then she talked to me and asked me where I came from and stuff about me.

After a few weeks I told my friend what happend and he knew her since he lives in the same area as her nad talked to her what she feels about me, she then told him that she she thinks I'm handsome but a little shy.

then today at 4 Am I saw the phone flashing so I checked it out to see why its flashing and then I almost got that heart attack, It was out of blue which is why I almost got that heart attack.

Sorry about the long wall tekst and sorry for my english.

So I have sent her on Snapchat a messege 2 days ago and she saw it but didn't replay, I'm not sure what to do now. :panic:

It is centered on the speculated and potential eruption of the volcanic caldera of Yellowstone National Park. Its tagline is "Scientists know it as the deadliest volcano on Earth.

Try Dxtory, although It's not free :/. It's similar like FRAPS, but has more settings.

I used Dxtory thrice though, because the last time I used was when I accidentally forgot to turn on my mic on Dxtory. I got pissed off and never used it again, so if you gonna try Dxtory, don't forget to figure out everything and don't make the same mistake I did. :p
