Any spider experts here? Because not too long ago I saw a spider on a wall in my house and I've been wondering what kind of spider it is.

It was blackish or dark grey, very flat (I swear it could've been as flat as a sheet of paper lol), and if I remember correctly it had 4 legs (although it might have been 6, I dunno). It had a small body but long legs. It was also EXTREMELY fast when I moved closer. Holy sh*t, I've never seen something of that size moving that fast. It literally took about 1 second for it to run 3 meters or so. It was about the size of the lid of a can of Pringles :)

I've seen the spider 3 times now (and of course I forget to take a picture of it every time), and Google didn't help. I'm just curious to find out more about that thing. I guess I could probably try to find a book about spiders in my country, but I thought I'd ask here first, although I doubt any of you lot can help :p

Got a little question about Windows Live. As some of you might know, I usually download an illegal copy of a game before buying it, to know is it worth playing if demo isn't available. Anyways, I happened to try out one game, which needs Windows Live, and now it's in the games list even though I've uninstalled the game long time ago. Is there a way I can remove the game from the list?

I'm not an expert on anything really but I do know that spiders are supposed to have 8 legs so either the one you found was victim to some animal cruelty or maybe it wasn't a spider. :p Besides, spiders creep me out, I don't even want to think about what they look like in South Africa.

If it had less than eight legs it wasn't a spider.

Man I don't know what I saw then. In all honesty, I did not know that ALL spiders have 8 legs  Maybe the thing I saw had 8 legs and I just didn't pay attention... I'm sure it was a spider tho, so then it must've had 8 legs

But no matter what I google (4 or 6 legged spider like insect, flat fast spider, whatever) I can't find it anywhere. I'll go spider hunting later, I know I saw it twice in my garage, so who knows, it might still be there...

Edit: I have to say THIS spider looks very close to the one I saw, but it's not the same. The legs, body and color are different, but it's close. This is the giant house spider and the fastest spider in the world according to wikipedia..

Anyway, spiders don't usually bother me (I let a black widow walk on my arm once, the one with the red pattern on its back), but what would I do if I saw this:

cobkids.jpg

I hate baby spiders!!!

Just something I found, so sorry for going off topic :)

He's asking whether you can get someone's picture from facebook without 'friending' them.

@alexx720 And it's not really something anyone should be telling you how to do either, even if it wasn't as easy as googling "how to get picture from facebook without friend". And it's against Facebooks terms of service anyway.

Erm, no he wasn't even asking a question, he has been trolling around Gen-Chat of late if you didn't notice. (Probably Rizqan maybe?)

And why did you change your username? I liked 'zoo3891' better.

@Hameer, Probably because V has been released.. the trolls have went back into their caves, others are preparing their guts for American thanksgiving soon and not to mention money for dentists once Halloween hits.

Ed: late post .. for some reason I clicked last unread post and it took me a few pages back.

Just out of curiosity, do the military medics carry these white pathes with the red cross in combat/war time? they look like if they could give possition away the position of the soldier...

DA-SC-89-11606.JPEG

Like in the picture above, of an US Airborne soldier with one of these pathes, taken during the op. Golden Pheasant, in 1988, where US Airborne troops were deployed in Honduras for intimidating the Nicaraguan forces and training the local ones, but there wasn't combat.

Oh, alright, I didn't see that. This guy either knows how to speak decent Spanish, or how to use Google translate, so it's probably not Rizqan. :D

I changed my name because I wanted to change my name to something else, but didn't put any thought into it, it's from some character's name in a book that I thought sounded neat at the time, also the other names I was going to use were taken. At least I have something to look forward to next year. :p

Being seen was the idea. Corpsmen were supposed to be 'exempt' from enemy fire.

Would that be effective, though? If I were a commander, I would try to shoot all the specialists first (medics included) before engaging the riflemen and stuff

I remember reading that the Geneva Convention forbids that, along with impersonating enemy soldiers and the like. While it looks good in theory, it doesn't work good in practice. I mean, have we ever had a "fair" war since the Geneva Convention took affect?

Put it this way, the Geneva convention can do it's best, but you'd have to be a damn fool or a patriot (Not a hell of a difference in some cases) to run around in front of an enemy shooting at you hoping they'll either:

A) See your white patch.

B) See the white patch and choose to leave you alone.

Has that even happened historically? As in the enemy leaving medics and the like be during battles? I might be wrong though, seeing as my knowledge of modern battles is rather limited.

It was a nice 'Idea' but didn't get anywhere. Snipers used the wounded to attract others. And, it wasn't unheard of to use ambulances to rearm, transport, and equip troops in the field.

Is it only women that find babies cute? Seriously, girls obsess over how cute babies are all the time, but when I look at a baby, to me they all look like little red weird things, I mean some of them are a little cute, but not so much so that you squeal "omg that is so cute" when really it looks like every other baby out there.

Little kids can be cute, but bald alien looking newborns are not, is it just a girl thing to think every baby is cute?

I honestly think most babies are cute. But I'm a weird person. It depends on the person I assume because I know some girls who absolutely hate babies.

Is it normal to still feel high after smoking a couple days later? I've been smoking lately because of some personal problems, and I noticed that some days after, I still feel high/everything is dreamlike or surreal.

I'm sick of seeing ugly babies. I find most babies to be ugly, I find very few of them cute. Loads of girls that were in my year at school seem to be popping them out like they're upside down pez's at the minute. Ugly f*cking babies are all over my FB feed, with stupid captions that go with them.

I was out the other night, and there were 4 girls who I knew from school that I saw and they were out together. It's like they're organising into lame motherhood clubs or something. They were all talking about their stupid ugly babies, and I had to listen to each and every one of them bang on about Archie or Ella, and how they're the most perfect thing in the world. One of them had recently been ditched by their baby's father, I can't blame him, and she kept going on about how she hates men now.

Goddamn babies. I hate them. Especially the ugly ones, which is like 95% of them.

Any reason why my Roster and my Application table are not centered, even though I always set it to do so each time I edit the post?

I know it's a noob question since the forum update, but why did the staff removed the ability to view banned members? I'm looking for their posts that made them banned here in the forums.

You can still see their posts, just not their profiles. Chances are though that if it was a post bad enough to get them banned in the first place it will have been deleted when they were banned anyway.
