Getting my first Mac in a couple of days. A Macbook Pro 15 inch retina. 1800 bloody hundred pounds.

 

Can anyone give me insight on how well the laptop cools itself? I don't want my legs to be suffering third degree burns while using it for work during daily life, or perhaps when I fancy seeing how the little GT 650m can cope with games. Cheers.

Well to be serious about it, it's a case of keeping your nose clean, being helpful and reporting offending posts as necessary, that is posts that are clearly just wrong not because you happen to disagree with them. If you are particularly active in a section of the forum you may be considered to be a Forum Leader/Led-By, that is if there is a need for it and there isn't already active folk in there.

 

Being level headed and being able to be subjective about other people can also help especially if it comes to stepping in between people arguing on the internet (there is a famous internet quote about that). Don't go around whoring yourself for those positions, as it's the old adage of don't phone us we'll phone you.

I imagine the intakes are on the bottom so it may be best to not game while is on your bed or lap.

This most likely a virus. Check in Task Manager if you have any programs running in the background and if you find something suspicious, shut it down. Also, do a scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and nuke every malware that it detects.

 

It is also possible that you also have narrator turned on.

On Windows go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>Accessibility and then you will have a few programs. Click on narrator (or something like that) and disable it somehow.

On Mac go to System Preferences and disable Voiceover.

I can't install that. I did an AVG scan and found only one detection, removed it, the problem still persists. The narrator thing was never opened before.

Nope, unless your torrent and it's associated client it setup on an intermediary server which is being left on overnight and is synced with your computer upon it being switched back on, however I'm guess that this wouldn't be the case so, no it won't continue to download.
