F*ck double post. Nevermind.

If you post in a topic and then it gets binned, does it still add towards your total cumulative posts or does it go like the topic does?

it still counts as a post.

No, It doesn't

No, It doesn't

Yes it does, your post count in your profile is your 'Total Cumulative Posts' and this includes active posts and posts that are binned (inactive). If a post of yours is binned you wont be able to see it anymore put the post count will remain the same.

I know if you click "find all posts by this member", obviously it won't show because the topic has just been binned but I wasn't aware if the post was taken away aswell or not.

of course they count, otherwise you would get instances like the following

> yay 5k milestone

> somewhere else a topic is binned

> a smartass enters

> "you only have 4999"

and yes I used myself in the example... what are you gonna do tounge.gif

@Nateshaw: That's why you make sure you have about 5010 posts just in case of that happening. tounge.gif

darn tootin' 5001 it was when i made it, had to be sure

ok the real reason was i forgot I was on 4999 when I made a post lol.gif

If gtaforums doesn't like oversized signatures, why don't they just have an auto-scale for them like avatars?

It's a possibility, but there is only so much the gaffa tape, elastic bands, sticky back plastic, a yoghurt pot and a couple of yards of string, and not forgetting a finite stock of Hamsters to power the joint that can be used to keep this place together.

I think Tank, is just trying to make the forum sound impressive by saying it is powered by hamsters.

It's probably powered by a sick rat he got at Petco.

Is there any point in defragmenting SSDs? Just curious.

Depends. Do you urgently require it?

No, and it's detrimental to the health/lifespan of it. Fragmentation does not impact the performance of an SSD. Furthermore, since SSDs have a limited lifespan of about a million writes or so (somebody correct me on this, please), moving the small fragments takes quite a bit of writing, which wears down the flash memory of the SSD.

A defragmentation is never urgently required on an SSD. It is pointless and does nothing but degrade the lifespan of the SSD.

So SSDs have a more limited lifespan compared to HDDs? I guess that answers my question whether it's a good idea to buy an SSD considering how high the prices are (especially in my country).

Definitely not. An SSD has an expected life span of 5-10 years with normal use. However, if you chose to defragment it frequently then you might lose a couple of years off that. It's still considerably more sustainable compared to a HDD's average life span of around 3 years.

Question for an Aussie, I'm only 17 so my dad's pre ordering V for me at EB games. Will they let him use my EB world card so it still comes up on it, and i'll earn extra carrots? (sounds weird I know, but an aussie should understand)

What's the name of the intro music of Breaking Bad? I think it also plays at the end of the episode Gray Matter in season 1. I asked this question in the Breaking Bad thread but no one replied.
