If I intend to be a police officer when I'm older (currently 17) what do you think they would look for or value more important; university degrees and qualifications in further education or work experience and voluntary work? I'm still only in my first year of college and I'm unsure whether to study a degree that would be useful such as a foundation degree in policing or criminology or find a job and apply for some voluntary work aswell.

 

Anybody have any advice on what I should do after college if I want to be a police officer in the near future?

Apart from it contributing to your electric bill, probably not.

 

Although I left a fan on for about 5 days without turning it off on holiday and it just stopped working - probably because it was on too long. Also I woke up with a runny nose and sore throat on the first morning of me leaving it on but I don't know whether that had anything to do with the fan.

If you want to have any sort of mobility in police force, I'm pretty sure it's the same in UK as it is in the States. At some point, you want to make detective. And for that, the more education you have under your belt that has to do with law, civics, forensics, psychology, and anything else that's even remotely related to actual investigation and justice process, the easier time of it you'll have.

I checked this page with both, Firefox and Chrome, and the only difference I can see is that the border of you avatar is slightly brighter on Chrome. But for whatever reason, some avatars don't show up at all on Firefox and all it shows is an image that shows that the link to the avatar doesn't work. But looking at some other members' avatar, that also have borders, there aren't any differences at all. Apparently, it differs from avatar to avatar and browser to browser.

Strange! Here is how far i have to zoom in on Firefox just to get all 4 sides of the border showing:

 

 

Which is obviously unpractical. Where as in Chrome, it appears as normal by default.

It's because the image itself is much bigger, and the border shrinks down too when it gets re-sized here. Probably why it looks like you're missing a side. On here I can see all the sides of the border, but it looks faded.

Okay guys, serious question. I am pretty sure i've developed Epilepsy/Temporal Lobe Epilepsy, there is no history or anything, but i've read that this is common. Now the reason I believe so it because one night after partying on Ecstasy which I hadn't had in some time, A few days afterwards I was having a weird - what I thought to be - side-effect of it, I dunno if the Ecstasy triggered it, or if it's coincidence, doesn't matter, deed is done.

Anyway, these are my symptoms:

>It's followed by a sensation,  the sensation I feel is very hard to describe, most lists of symptoms say this is what most sufferers say - That it's hard to describe. But it feels like a floating, dizziness, and sadness, frustration with tingling all around my body, it actually kind of feels like being on Ecstasy with the tingling (in case anyone has tried it.)

I can talk fine when I do it, and move okay, but everything kinda feels slowed down, and I can't perceive my thoughts, it's tough to describe really, sometimes the sick feeling remains in my stomach for 10-20 minutes afterwards.

 

Okay point is, I want to see a doctor about it and see if he can confirm it, check for tumours, or just rule it out as something to do with depression or Anxiety hopefully, because I have been feeling pretty down lately, I know it's depression, not sever though, i've felt it before, I also know why, it's a circumstantial thing, which I can change. But I digress, the question I have is:

 

If I go to the Doctor, and get diagnosed with this mild form of epilepsy (Which could get more severe possibly) is it possible that my license to drive will be revoked? I don't want to hear about why I should see a doctor, I want to know If I would lose my license. If I lose my license, I lose my job and any decent career I was hoping to have, it would actually wreck my life pretty badly, so it's very important I ask this.

 

So this has happened to me 7 times since I woke up. Can anyone answer?

Well I've research a bit about your epilepsy problems, but its according to the US law to which I read instead that people having TLE are easily stripped of off their driving license. Maybe it depends on the law that you follow since your Australian.

I think health is more important. Especially if you think you have f*cking epilepsy.

It's a mild epilepsy Possibly, reading stuff on the internet leads you to believe you're going to die, so I dunno the truth in this. or it's just anxiety problems. Like I said, losing my license would literally wreck my life, I would have to give up my current job and the career path I was following to find something else.

 

However, that said, I have a brother-in-law who has severe epilepsy, where he has full-on seizures, but he has his license. So perhaps I should just go to the doctor.

I think fans use less that 100Watts of power at full ball, so it shouldn't really dent your electricity bill. Fans are pretty robust as well so it probably won't wear it out any time soon, keep an eye out for wobbles though, if it falls out of the roof it can cause some damage, i've stuck my hand into fans enough times to know there is a fair bit of force there.

Okay, the form of epilepsy I THINK I have only emerged a few months ago, and I haven't had a seizure as you are thinking. The seizures I get are known as partial seizures, I think, here's the symptoms, I don't actually start jerking around like my brother in law does.

And that's it, it's really scary when it happens, like mentioned, it's very difficult to describe, but you can feel it coming on, and you can pull over or whatever. Once you know the warning signs you can find yourself a safe place to chill out until it's over.

Do you think that includes the III era protagonists as well? I would love to play as Claude or Tommy. Otherwise I'm not very interested in multiplayer at all.

I would think it would be all characters in my opinion. Perhaps you should shoot off a question to tech support, they might know, and they usually answer.

 

@The epilepsy thing from yesterday, I thought about it some more, and I think it's all in my head (Okay, derr, that's what epilepsy is.) I mean that I think the only reason I started having these attacks was due to probably anxiety, because it can cause similar symptoms. Then I stopped worrying about it and it went away for a while, then when I started thinking on it some more, I had 8 occurrences in one day, and like 2-3 more while I was actually dreaming, Yesterday I decided -After asking - to try just force it behind me and it seems to be working, I woke up today with a short sleep, but i'm feeling refreshed, unlike yesterday where I was really groggy and out-of-touch all day, I didn't feel like myself either, every encounter I had with people was weird and I didn't really know what to say, which was pretty out-of-character for me, usually I can fake along with any kind of person

 

It's a strange thing your mind, and I suppose in this case, it probably was all in my mind, or at least so far it really seems like that is the case, I kinda feel like an idiot jumping to conclusions on the internet, because that generally doesn't end very well, but I guess the more retarded mistakes you make, the wiser you become from them, and at least now i'll now for next time and better recognize when i'm getting depression setting in so I can put my foot in the door and escape through it, I had it once, it sucks, and it seems to get worse if you don't realize what is happening to you.

If it's classic GTA protagonists included, it all includes the III era ones of course. I am not sure yet too, but does that include Claude Speed and maybe those GTA 1 protagonists (and its DLCs) as well?

 

@finn4life - That's strange, although you'll might experience another epilepsy attack in the meantime or probably next time. Epilepsy does happen from time to time with no assurance at all when it will attack. That's how I see from the many persons I've encountered the same disease.

People say they will get used to each other, but the cats are really aggressive towards the dog. They even attack the dog!

Cats are often aggressive to dogs. It's how you want the social hierarchy. It should be humans > cats > dogs.

Be thankful that the dog isn't a cat, if it was it'd probably be a lot worse. Try keeping the animals in different rooms, and every few hours or so bringing them out to meet and greet until they get used to each other. That's what worked for my dog and cats. You could try patting them on the head and cooing like a pigeon to calm them.

 

e: Like s7free said, they're probably not going to be friendly with each other. My animals have been together for about a year and a half now and the cats still lash out at the (smaller) dog every once in a while.

They will never be "friends" so the best things you can do is either have them apart (in different rooms) or have them live in different houses, what i mean by that is as my mother has a dog and a cat, the dog lives with my aunty and my mother keeps the cat

 

I can't think of a better solution unless your willing to give one or the other up

Usually when a gang is formed, there are more members who lead a gang, thus they'll use all the same account for editing the first post and stuff alike. Or if a leader decides to leave the gang, or becomes inactive, the other leader(s) can take care of it. For instance, if a leader is inactive, and something needs to be edited in the first post of the gang, another leader (who obviously knows the password for the special account that created the topic) can do that job.

Can someone tell my why whenever I try to get in cars made by this guy, my game crashes: Car mods

 

What happens is the car does spawn/show up, and the NPCs can drive it, but not me.

 

Only one that worked is the Diablo GTR and 996 GTA Strassenversion.

Maybe the mods don't support your game version? I had GTA SA from the GameFly client (almost like Steam) and I could barely start my game due to mods that didn't support my version.
