Yeah that's the advice Id give to anyone looking to join. Stick around for a few years, post in the lounge regularly but don't spam, don't start arguments or be a whiny bitch and eventually you'll find your way into a gang.

Not necessarily. When Melc invited me he was like "I'm not sure if your a hardcore troll or some super introverted angsty 20 something but welcome to the OGA". I was so much of a n00b that I didn't even know what the OGA was when I was invited. I thought it was a multiplayer gang. I think the key advice is that if your going to piss people off make sure there not mods.

Just wondering is all. I'm under the impression that certain OGA members hate me for some reason.

No matter what website you go on there are gonna be people that hate you (I mean 'you' generalised not specifically you, GTA-King )

Luckily there are 50+ members in each gang so your chance of not getting in because a few have a silly grudge is unlikely.

You'd be surprised. A couple of bad opinions or experiences is often all it takes to permanently stop someone getting into the OGA.

Well, not permanently. Typhus was one of those people that members of the OGA didn't really "get". We decided to take a chance on him, and now he is one of us. GTA-King, on the other hand is a one trick pony. A pony that is obsessive of Breaking Bad, he isn't $$H material. At least for now. But do to the recent incident, even if he changed, he won't get into regardless.

True. There are people on this forum who have absolutely no chance of making it to OGA. It took me a long time to join an official. But in the meantime I joined an unofficial gang and made a name for myself as the completely forgettable nice guy. I didn't ask to be part of LFM but honestly I feel being invited is a lot better than begging.

Yep. There really isn't a point in begging to join a OGA gang. We discuss new members all the time, behind the scenes. If the majority of the gang agrees to invite you, we send an invite. Begging does nothing, except maybe lower your chances.

Well, you guys do usually have a different way of getting new members. Each gang is different in that regard.

I'm not "begging." I was just wondering if I even had a chance to join any gang knowing that incident I had with OGA. I'm sure they know what it is. It's all settled now though. I kind of know why Z hates me (but not entirely sure). It's all just a peace of mind knowing if I even have a chance or not. Somebody said I have already burned any bridge that leads to the OGA. And that's fine, I will accept that I guess.

 

EDIT: Also, I didn't PM spam just anyone. I only PM'ed the people who enjoyed my story letting them know about the forum awards.

 

Z invited me to join once, but I somehow f*cked that up. To this day, I'm not even sure exactly what I did. I even heard I had enough votes to join, but one of the higher ups simply denied me. I'd like to know why, if that's not so much to ask.

If you're implying you want to start an official gang you cannot do that. As Admins only have the power to make new groups and Waddy already said we won't be seeing any new ones soon. Also, all of the current OGA's were unofficial gangs at one point I think so official groups aren't just made like that. Although you could form an Unofficial gang here. Good luck though.

You can organise a multiplayer group for online gaming in the Gang section which you find under the Multiplayer heading on the menu to the left of your screen. Just hop in, observe how some of the successful gangs in there such as 'The Yardies' and the 'Angels of Death' operate and then create an attractive theme and start recruiting members. Good luck!

 

In terms of how you can organise a new Official Gang so that it shows up directly on your profile like Zaibatsu, The Precint et al, unfortunately they were created by the Admins several years ago and represent a long standing forum tradition and currently it is unlikely that any new gangs will be added to the OGA in the near future.

There's no problem with unofficial gangs having sigs. I actually prefer they do just that. Makes the gang feel more connected as a whole and it's easier to keep tabs on who's with who. As for the whole joining an official gang thing; let me give you this hint: very VERY few members in official gangs were not in an unofficial gang. Just some food for thought.
