Ok having a serious laptop issue atm. Basically, my mate dropped my laptop on his bed from about half a foot. I turned it on and the screen now has a significant number of coloured lines appearing on the right hand side. I can't see anything behind that side of the screen, it keeps like flashing or something (kinda looks like the colours when you do a printer test thing). Is there anyway I can fix what appears to be screen damage easily???

I have this too. My top right corner i black and it looks like whatever makes up the image (yeah I don't know technology) has smudged or flooded a bit, and there's a spidery crack. I have those lines you're on about too, and they've been spread a little over the past couple months.

 

Anyone's help would be appreciated.

Might be able to, depending on how lenient the retailer or manufacturer are. Make it sound like it happened from every day use, just opening and closing the lid. The ribbon is probable loose/broken, unless the actual screen is f*cked.
