My laptop charging cable is buggered. My laptop is about 3 years old, so the warranty is void now. I need to get a replacement, so where would be my best option to get another charging lead? It's a Sony Vaio something or other, so it's not like some obscure model with parts few and far between. Would I be better off going to the place I bought it from (Curry's), or some regular computer shop? Or somewhere else?

Thanks.

Slamman.

You can get them anywhere for pretty darn cheap.

Edit:

Ha...forgot the important part of "just check the label on the bottom of your actual laptop to make sure you match volt/amp stuff".

I fear that if I went to Slamman, I'd come away with another 4 laptops, probably all requiring me to get their own charger leads as well.

Thanks trip.

You could try, oh I don't know, commenting on what she says? For instance, if she says she had a rough day at school you ask why it was rough, say "yeah those teachers are wankers" etc. Seems pretty obvious.

At the bottom of the Index page.

Actually, there's a proper Board Statistics page that as far as I know only staff can see. The only reason I know this is because once I saw on Mainland Marauder's profile that he was viewing 'Board Statistic'

I'd really like to see them. Any chance a staff member can screencap 'em? It'd be pretty cool to have a read.

Whip It Out™. Oh, and do what Melchior said.

Or does that just indicate that digital images are limited and you couldn't really take photos of everything, that at some point some repetition would occur?

I would say that. Millions of things are not seen in a photo, because of it's resolution.

But then you could take photos from a closer distance. There shouldn't be any advantage to a larger resolution photo because this resolution can include parts of a bigger resolution, so it's really the same thing.

I've just found out that my old job is going to be available in March and I want to email my old boss to let him know that I plan on moving back up to Manchester and that I'd love to work there again. So, can anyone here offer some advice as to what I should write, the points I should definitely cover?

Any help is greatly appreciated icon14.gif

You should surely mention how you had been missing your previous job and waiting for an opportunity to get back to it.

I couldn't think of any other points besides the above as I'm not really good in this.

Also, if I had it in my way, I'd just get his business number, ring him and request a meet with him to discuss about something important since it's good to approach someone in person.

Good luck, man.

I'd love to phone but I'm partially deaf so I wouldn't understand him without being able to lip read lol.gif He already knows this so hopefully he'll take it into consideration. I have noted in the email that I'd like to meet in person to discuss it so that should suffice.

As you suggested, I've noted how I liked working there and also what I'd done whilst working there in terms of implementing new ideas and so forth. I was a good employee and we parted on good terms (they actually gave me a job in a different part of their business when I moved back down to Wales) so I'm hoping that he'll remember all this and make a note of it.

Cheers for the answer, man.

Anybody know how to get rid of this dreadful thing from always showing up? At first I just couldn't comment on any videos without it popping up, but now I can't even click on one. confused.gif There's no button (obviously) to hide it and its really just grinding my gears at this point.

I always click not now and ask later and it stays away for a few weeks.

What's the name of the term which is defined as the book's title being mentioned within the book? I remember it was asked a long time ago, but for the love of God, I couldn't find it.

Would really appreciate your help on this one!

Guys, it's been a page. Please help.

Isn't it allusion, as in the book alludes to the title? Then again, that's a word, not a term.

In film it's called a Title Drop. Not sure if that transfers to literature.

I'm looking for the name of a song that is played at pretty much every hockey/american football game all around the world. It's basically a guitar solo. First the guitar plays 6 notes, and then the audience repeats those notes, then another 6 notes are played and the process is repeated.

Ring a bell?

Sort of a combination of "jalopy" and "beatnik".
