What do you mean exactly? I think it's the most recent group and it was named after the GTA2 gang.

Basically what's it for?

They are an official multiplayer gang\group, though many official groups aren't that active gaming wise compared to unofficial groups.

it's just a forum gang for recognised members, not an "official multiplayer group" these days

we have our own private forums to plot against members and all that

Similar to what Blank and OatyBee said, the groups like Zaibatsu were originally setup (although the Z weren't in the original setup, well not this incarnation but most of the other groups were) as clans/gangs for multiplayer GTA, this was going back to the III days when a multiplayer version was mooted about quite heavily back then so this place was trying to get ahead of the game. However this never materialized but the whole gang thing remained in place, most g-nags anyway on this forum are usually full of like minded folk and some do/did have gaming things going on, for example the Z had a bitching couple of years on Battlefield 2, until folk got bored of it when 2142 came out and BF2 got full of d*cks... 12-year old d*cks, with this IQ of a d*ck, basically they we all d*cks.

However if the next question asked is how do I get in, then there is some simple rules which pretty much all gangs follow.

1) Don't ask to get in.

2) The gang will invite you in

3) Don't whore yourself on the forum, you'll just look desperate

4) Be good, but noticeable and a gang depending on your style might give you the nod.

5) (most important) don't give your account to Jimmy.

My question is do people even know of jimmy around here anymore?

Doubtful, only people were around Jimmy's reign of "terror" would know who the f*ck he was. Though the OGA never forgets... sly.gif

My question is who is Jimmy. moto_whistle.gif

I share your curiosity.

He whores himself out on our wall as memory of all the dumb sh*t he did.

Ah. Si comprende. I always assumed his name was Bill from his YouTube account. blush.gif

Well, not exactly. Jimmy was an indian PBM who would keep joining up desperately. Once, Pandazoot pranked him into holding up a sign saying "i love GTANET&GTAFORUMS". Slamman would allow Jimmy to use his account to view the OGA forums.

I sent my Android device in to be repaired because it wouldn't turn on (except for download mode) - what are the chances I get a brand new device?

How long have you had it? Is it on warranty?

It depends, really. If they can't fix the problem or fixing it is too tedious, then you'll get a new one.

My old iPhone 4 was slightly bent, and I sent it yo be repaired but they gave me a new one instead.

I applied for a job for the YouTube Enforcement team in my local city. There was a quiz they send out and it takes an hour or 2 to complete. I did it and I made a very simple mistake (which I can't get in to). That mistake (may I just say it was the wording of the question that through me off or lack of specification in the question which led to my mistake) was enough for them to say no. Is it cheeky if I try re-apply? The job is still being advertised.

You could try and re-apply again, however they may notice you already have. However in my opinion if you've already got a job then don't bother, because if this employer said no over a question which doesn't seem to be clear in the first place, what is the employer going to be like when you actually get to work for them, they are going to turn into one of those employers where you'll need to take lessons in being a clairvoyant so you can understand what you want from them.

Cheers for that. Think I'll leave it now that I think about more.

If I live under an authoritarian government, and I write about political topics (i.e., exposing governmental corruption, uncovering files about secret police organizations..etc) on Twitter with an anonymous account. Can I be tracked up to where I write from, be it in my home or anywhere else?

I hope someone with an insight into this subject to provide an answer.

In a word, yes.

There are numerous ways to do it too, varying from simple IP lookups to interception and wiretapping, or a watering hole attack. Even behind a wall of proxies, onion routing and other anonymity techniques, it's relatively easy to identify people in little to no time at all if your a corrupt government and have effective control of all the communications in the nation.

If you broke something which has high sentimental value to a friend and you can get away with them not knowing it was you would you tell them you broke it?

Denying things won't solve anything it will eventually come out in the end but more worse so best thing to do is to tell them, it won't be so bad if it was a accident but it would be the most wise thing to do icon14.gif

They've more than effective control of all communications. They can listen to your calls anytime they want under any excuse without a judicial writ, because they're the government and the judge in the same time.

How can they reach to my IP address if they can't access my account? what if I was able to avoid the trap of falling into one of these attacks, such as watering hole attack?

Numerous ways:

1) It's quite trivial to pull details like IP address out. They'll probably have software specifically designed for logging particular key words and communication data associated with them. From that they can get your IP and/or MAC address, which can both be used to geolocate a particular machine.

2) They probably can access your account. If they have effective monopoly on all communications they can extract the key used to encrypt data from your computer when you log in to your chosen social networking site and effectively steal your credentials to gain access.

3) How do you know you haven't already been subject to a watering hole attack and don't already have a remote access tool or monitoring software installed on your machine by the government? Even governments like Gernany's use trojans against suspected cyber criminals.

There are lots of other angles of attack too. They could use social engineering to get you to effectively give up your details. They could identify you thought background communications data, like other sites and sessions connected to any communications you do. Network monitoring from someone whose connected to the sane area switch or junction box as you...

E3 like EEE means Electronic Entertainment Exposition as far as I'm aware, in terms of gaming obviously.
