Um I already said this but girishb locked it I forgot about this question topic sorry girishb smile.gif

Anyway.....

Ok So When I Watch a gaming video mostly gta videos I see this

Yes I can give you the link which I downloaded GTA4 absolutely free

Fresh DownloadLinks (dot) Com

Something Like The Above mentioned It is always in the top comments and when I click on the user he has no recent activity. That site is absolutely idiotic you have to do like 100 surveys to download the file.So My Question is Is the site advertising on youtube to attract people and why are they always top comments?

Ok, I've had Oblivion (PS3, GOTY and Platinum the normal game with The Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine on it too) for a while now, and eventually the thing I'm asking about got more and more annoying:

I get 4 (or more) lines distorting the image, the thing is, they're not everywhere, they sometimes appear and when I enter a dungeon or something they're gone. Or when I'm in the outer cell and I enter a city. I think they're either called Jaggy Lines or Scan Lines or something. How do I fix this? I read on some site that I should lower the resolution (I use the highest HD), but that didn't work. What are your suggestions?

Another question that I think may be because of the technical limitations at the time the game came out: How do I increase the draw distance.

There are no scan lines with HD, because the image is transmitted digitally. There is still line scanning done by the screen, but since the problem is limited to particular game, that clearly has nothing to do with it.

"Jaggies" are a colloquial name for certain aliasing artifacts, which aren't going to be static on the screen.

So I can't tell from your description what these are, and without that, it's impossible to guess what the solution could be. Can you maybe post a picture?

1. I'm guessing what you might be seeing is screen tearing? To get rid of that completely you'd need vsync which isn't as common as it should be on PS3 games. You can somewhat reduce the tearing by having a lower framerate (by raising the graphics or something) but both of these solutions are not really possible on a console, so you're probably stuck with it.

2. Get a PC. You can't tamper with the graphics settings on consoles for obvious hardware reasons.

Ah, thanks K^2, I went into the game and went to Vilverin (which was where I first saw the lines on the outside). Well, I equipped my iPad and tried to take a picture, but it didn't work, I noticed that the lines are only noticeable when you're moving.

They're more visible on rocks apparently, big ones or small ones, doesn't matter, rocks seem to be covered in them, roads are often found with them too.

@OverTheBelow: Sadly, a PC would be too hard to maintain for me. The money isn't a problem, it's just the maintenance and switching to Windows for the first time. Who knows, maybe I'll switch after the move (hopefully).

Hm. Yes, it could be a sync issue. See if there is a vsync option. You might also be describing an artifact of anisotropy. That would be looked after by anisotropic filtering, but I doubt there is an option to toggle that. I suppose, aliasing artifact is also possible. See if there is an AA option.

But OverTheBelow is right. These are the sort of things you can usually fix on PC, but not all that often on a console.

Thanks K^2, guess I'll have to deal with it, none of the things you said are in the Options, so yeah. smile.gif

Thanks OTB too. icon14.gif

Well, for future considerations, Windows gaming is rather painless these days. Windows 7 has decent security and is sufficiently user-friendly. And to play games, you pretty much just need Steam, which will take care of all the downloads, installation, and patching. Oblivion is available through Steam, of course. So is almost everything else worth actually playing. Notable exceptions being some EA and Blizzard titles.

Tell her you're gay. Then she'll do the talking, not you. Sit back, be patient and listen to whatever she says. Trust me, she'll have a lot on her mind. Then when she's emotionally drained and at her weakest point and needs a shoulder to lean on... BAM!

Whip it out!™

Basically, practice. Find more excuses to talk to girls on different subjects. Somewhere, subconsciously, some part of you is going, "OMG! I'm talking to a girl!" It doesn't matter if you rationally understand that it's silly. (Or not?) The important part is that the only way that part of your brain is going to calm down is by bombarding it with enough examples where you talked to a girl, and absolutely nothing exciting happened. Just make it into something common and mundane, like it is, and that's how you'll be able to handle it.

I've always been able to talk to girls normally, so it's hard to deconstruct what makes someone do it normally, I guess I had a lot of girls that were friends when I was young (and I'm a fa**ot). Try actually forcing yourself to pay attention to the conversation and not the body, like K^2 said, you're probably thinking of them as sex objects, or at least unnaturally. You have to drop the idea that a girl is for intimate relationships only.

What's his new account name, though?

I'm guessing, if the net-sup thread disappeared, he's meant to remain anonymous. It's like GTAF version of witness protection. Who knows, maybe he had some dirt on Andolini Mafia Family, or something.

Edit: Hey, you're with Andolini Mafia Family. And you really want to know Mati's new account. I think I might be on to something.

Maybe I shouldn't have said anything.

How long do you think it takes before one of TP guys spots him, though? I give him two days.

He's got dirt with us, alright. turn.gif

I did, I'm currently on page five of sixteen. My dreams have finally come true! Darn, I didn't even get to finish writing my entry!

I have a question now. Last year in school I got really bored and started playing around with algebra. I thought I had discovered this thing where connecting a number of dots so each dot was connected to another and counted up the lines got you a series of numbers that kept increasing what was being added to them by one:

0 dots: 0

1 dots: 0

2 dots: 1

3 dots: 3

4 dots: 6

5 dots: 10

and so on...

After a while of trying to figure out how to represent it as an equation I came across a name for it, and an equation, I can't remember either, and google isn't helping. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I don't know if there is a specific name for this being applied to lines connecting dots. However, look at it this way. Say you have N points. Pick one of them. It can be connected to N-1 other points, because you don't need to connect it to itself. Pick a second point. It's already connected to the first point, so that leaves N-2 lines to draw. Third point will be linked to first and second point, so that leaves N-3. So the total number of lines is a sum of numbers from 1 to N-1. That's an arithmetic progression sum. General formula for sum of elements from 1 to M is M*(M+1)/2. So for N points you will have (N-1)*N/2 lines. If that doesn't answer your question, maybe it will at least help you find the answer.

Did Marco Polo actually say,

I did not tell half of what I saw, for I knew I would not be believed.

Or was it just made up by Naughty Dog for Uncharted 2?

I think Naughty Dog made up the second part.

Marco Polo simply said "I did not tell half of what i saw".

I think...

No, the whole thing is supposedly legit. No way to prove if he really said it, but it was definitely not made up for Uncharted.

Marco Polo and the Silk Road to China

This book was published in 2002, long before even the first Uncharted game.

Nope, but you don't need to repost the question every few posts, it's still on the same page. Patience.

Try your PC, see if that works, we can narrow down if it's just the iPad.

Ah, a fellow mathematic, finally! Ok I know this, I know exactly what you are talking about, I did this and did it f*cking well when I covered this in A-level further maths

that (what you described) is called a complete graph (yes it is a graph), complete graphs are signified as Kn (the n is supposed to be a small number slightly below the K, like the 2 in H2O, don't know how to put that onto forum text, tried copying from word did not work)

n = the number of nodes (dots) there are

and the number of edges in the graph (lines) in a complete graph is equal to [n(n-1)] / 2

so if you have 6 dots you will do 6 times 5, which is 30, and divide by 2 and you will have 15 lines

10 dots, 10 times 9 = 90, divide by 2 and 45 lines

400 dots, 400 times 399 = 159600 divide by 2 and 79800 lines

got it? good

PS - i forgot the equation too but given the examples you gave I saw the pattern straight away. Just thought I would share that smile.gif

If you want to know more simply PM me

PPS - I apologise if the word network is used here, silly error on my part it is not a network until the edges are assigned values, must be getting rusty wink.gif think I got all of the mistakes but may have missed one

anyway enjoy smile.gif

Since we're talking about math, I always wondered if there's some sort of "rule" about exponentiation. Because I think that about everyone is explained that x^2 = x*x. But how about x^0,5 = sqroot(x), x^-1 = 1/x and -x^0,5 etc. Is there some rule that counts for all?
