How much would a good wireless keyboard go for? I don't need anything too fancy, just so I can type messages and respond quicker in chat rooms faster on PSN. I'd prefer a keyboard that came with a plug-in jack so I can just stick it in the USB port on my PS3, but I can deal one with a wire as well.

I'm pretty sure the US Government has better things to be worried about than if people are using a trademark symbol on a Grand Theft Auto-based forum.

Another question for UK based members like myself.

 

I need to find a number of landowners contact details / who own's what exactly, however I'm not in a position to pay for the service Land Registry offers, any other suggestions to find out?

The only other options I can think of are quite hit and miss are to either ask around the neighbours to see if they know who owns what, that might be a little exposed. If you want a little more anonymity then you could try Companies House if you know a company owns the land or maybe even try 192.com if you know there is an address associated with the land or post code, it would at least give you a starting point.

Try a Freedom of Information request with the local council or something maybe? It's free (unless the cost of getting it is over £600 or something, then you pay the difference), has to be responded to within 28 days and is pretty reliable. Not sure if land ownership falls under FOI jurisdiction though.

It doesn't come under FOI.

 

There are ways of doing it using open sources, but sometimes they need a bit of nous and specialist software. The planning registry is always a good place to start- dig through planning applications on the property, or on neighbouring properties to see who submitted the application and/or who lodged complaints against it. That's where I'd start. If you want, you could PM me the details and I could pull what I could find? But you'll have to explain what you want it for as I don't want to be party to illegal actions.

Strange that it seems so difficult. In my city we have a web site where you type in an address and you get all the info needed (for free). Anyone can find out the owner, amount paid for property, and amount paid in taxes, plus tons of other info.

The specifics of the project make it much more difficult- there's a very small primary information pool and a very large and disparate geographical area to cover. That's all I'll say about it from the PM I've had. But I've given some pointers that might be useful.
