Hi guys, probably an easy one for most of yous.

 

In the American movies about the WW2 every American soldier has a net on his helmet. Why is that? What's the proper name and the purpose of them?

Stu answered the first half of your question. As for the name of it, I don't really think it has a proper name. It's just a camouflage technique.

As Ryan and GTA_stu said it´s a camouflage technique.

 

The name of the Helmet used in the WW2 is M1, a combat helmet that was used by the United States military from World War II(adopted in 1941) until 1985.

Well YouTube has decided that it would like to make a new enemy today. Every time I try to watch a video a message pops up saying "An error has occurred. Please try again later". Now, I have tried again later many times and seeing as it doesn't offer any more valuable advice I'm a bit stuck as to how I can fix it.

 

So, has anyone else had this problem and, if so, how did you resolve it?

It seems to be a connection error. I used to get that too when my connection was "on the fritz", down or really slow.

It's every single video.

 

My connection is fine. Every other video hosting site works perfectly well and my speed is still around the 16Mb mark. I have the YouTube app on my phone and it works perfectly fine on there. I've reset my router and still nothing.

1. Shake an angry fist at the sky and swear vengeance, usually gets results.

 

Seriously though:

- Try refreshing the page you are watching the video on when you get the error.

- Visit Youtube/Youtube videos through your history from when it worked. Strangely enough i could not access a clothing site for a week on any browser until i went through my history and accessed it from there from when it was working.

 

If the first two fail try:

- (A) Different browser/s.

- Restarting your computer.

- Clearing Cache

- Clearing History

- Clearing cookies (Do them in order of listed, clearing cookies is annoying because you have to login to stuff, so if possible find out how to clear just YT cookies).

 

If it still doesn't work refer back to Step 1.

IE and Chrome both let the videos play. I tried everything else, even deleting all cookies, and there's still no change. I think it's safe to say that the problem is with Firefox. I've tried removing add-on's that might conflict with YouTube and that didn't work so I guess the only thing left to do is reinstall Firefox.

 

I think I'll do step one for a while before hand. Cheers anyway, man. Much appreciated.

I have a problem, I think it's with my browser (chrome) but I'm not 100% sure. It just doesn't look like chrome when I try to search for something, almost like a cache or something, I'm not sure. Here are a couple of pictures which hopefully demonstrate:

 

 

 

It was just like good old regular chrome until earlier today when I decided I wanted to watch a live premier league game stream online and downloaded something which would allow me to do so. After that is when it didn't look right. The site was http://www.vipbox.tv/, and it was recommended to me by Seddo in the sports section as well as a friend on facebook.

 

So my question is, what do I do in order to get chrome back to the way it used to be? Thanks for any help, and bare in mind I'm not that great with computers.

You could delete your settings from the appdata directory. You will lose everything though, and I'm not even sure it will solve your problem.

 

appdata is hidden so here is what my path looks like in case you've never f*cked around in your appdata dir

Yh pretty much. Basically when I try to google something, or use the search/address bar at the top it doesn't look like how it used to look when it brings up the results. The way the images are laid out, or even just a "web search" it doesn't look right. Sorry, it's not very technical language lol.

 

trip, I'm not too bothered if it makes me lose everything because I have all my passwords written down and that would be pretty much the only inconvenience to me: passwords not being saved so no automatic log in. But you only mean "everything" internet-wise right? It wouldn't mess with my word documents or photos I've got saved or delete programmes/games would it?

 

Edit: aha gig that sounds about right. Something like that has happened before. Where would I find these add ons/extensions, and how do I go about removing the offending add on?

It seems like it's just a simple add-on search bar. Try looking in your "Extensions" or "Add-ons", whatever Chrome calls it. You should see something that's like "Dicks Free Search Tools". Uninstall that and you should be alright.

 

Edit: If you give me a second, I'll find a tutorial for you.

 

Here you go, man. Just skip to the two minute mark and watch from there and you should be good to go.

I'm thinking of a scene in a movie... a mob movie, can anyone help me find out what it is?

 

A couple of guys are having dinner at a small local restaurant and a couple is sitting at a table next to them. The woman is laughing and giggling until one of the mobsters walks up and asks them to be quieter... the guy challenges him and gets his hands handed to him. Anyone know the scene or the movie?

Are you talking about Green Street Hooligans or whatever it's called? If so that may be it and I got the theme mixed up. I watched that movie so many times and love it but if that's the case I don't remember the scene.

Ok well I've found the offending little bugger, but my set up seems to be slightly different to the one in the YT video. There's no uninstall option. I can only tick the box which says "enabled" or click a little bin which removes it from chrome. But I've tried both of these options twice now and it doesn't seem to permanently remove it because when I reload chrome and go back on "extensions" it's still there again and is still enabled. Uninstall Chrome then reinstall it. Your bookmarks and stuff should be fine and survive the reinstall process, while extensions and the likes will be removed.

Try going to your control panel, then "Add or remover programmes". Check in there if there's anything asocciated with it. If there isn't anything in there then I would try trip's method.

 

Go to:

 

 

C:\Users\your files\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data

 

 

Try deleting the extension from there.

Does Women bully? Yeah, maybe it's right. But instead of doing a physical damage, try with a mental damage (Careful, they can be really angry if you say anything about their fashion). Also, whom are you asking? Don't you know that we, men don't know anything about Women.
