Google Chrome does it by default, plus I think you can use plugins for Firefox.

Edit: Damn I was a page behind lol.

It seems Firefox also has it by default, cause I never had to install a plug in for it.

What is a DA?

An old hair style dudes wore in the 50s. It looks like the back end of a duck so the hair style was called a Duck Ass. I'm on my tablet and it is a pain in the ass to do the image thing or I would attach an example.

Honestly, I can't believe it wasn't lil weasels response.

What was the first ever topic on GTAF?

I think first topic was a test which Tank opened.

Yeah, and unfortunately, the first server GTAForums ran on (when it was still called GTA3Forums) crashed or something, so no topics from before March-April 2002 still exist.

Aww sad.gif

I'm quite a fan of seeing how things first start out and seeing the early days of things...

It's just interesting to me, I guess.

Can I use an Australian Debit Card to pay for things on Steam where it's all USD? (I'm aware of AUD to USD differences)

You should be able to. You will pay an EXCHANGE fee, beyond the exchange rate.

But, From what I see in the Trouble-Shooting forums and other q&a forums.

DON't Buy a download game. There are all too many problems getting the run.

Discs are the best. Amazon.com

it is the closing hours of the summer sale, so games are cheap as hell

that's why they are asking I bet, and why they using steam right now - but I agree download games are sh*t at times and no money back =/ but google always has a solution

and how come you see things in USD on steam? i see it in pounds sterling here in UK, u sure it is not actually aus dollars - things are like half off or 75% off for the sale so if you see a game at 10 aus dollars - that's why

It's in USD for some reason, but the Australian Dollar and theus dollar are pretty much exactly the same now, Paypal handles the conversion.

As I've told you already, you can view here the oldest viewable topic on GTAForums, a topic opened on April 25th, 2002. There are most probably older topics in the hidden forums, but on the general forum there's only this one.

Why is it that when you "ninja edit", the small text at the bottom saying "this post was edited at yada yada.." doesn't show up after editing the post?

There is a small amount of time given for you to edit posts without it showing up. I'm not entirely sure why they have it, but that's why you can ninja edit posts this way.

Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.

I think that window disappears if somebody posts before your edit is complete though

Let's say you get 60 seconds

30 seconds in you edit - you have 30 seconds left

10 seconds later someone posts - 20 seconds remaining

5 seconds after you post with 15 seconds to spare

I think it will still have the text - not 100% though, I don't do it often, particularly within a minute and even more particularly on hugely active topics where people are posting within a minute of each other

But I just did now 9 times - got caught yeah it is about 60 seconds given how fast I type, my page load speed, the number of mistakes I made such as pressing enter to submit suicidal.gif

time window is approx a minute - had to try to find out how long, could not help it

Personally I like to play a game called "write an obscene and abusive message about someone, then do a ninja edit before anybody notices."

The server clock updates the time every minute, so if your edit is before the next update it doesn't show.

My question is: I am looking for a GTA III-ERA mod thingy which lets you see the models of the add-ons before you put them on the game, my question is what is the name of this mod tool? sad.gif

What ever happened to the rule that stated that people below the age of 18 aren't allowed on the forum?

I'm pretty sure it was 18. The owners of the site probably wanted more users to be available. Can't remember why exactly but the rule was more of a "don't ask don't tell" rule, so if you were, say, 16/17 but acted mature enough nobody would really mind.

I admit I'd like that rule back. V Forum would be much nicer.

I'm sure people under 18 aren't stupid enough to put their real date of birth in.

I bought Duke Nukem 64 boxed with the manual last year for and people have been telling me it's worth quite a bit but I'm not sure myself. Does anyone know how much it's worth?

Lately I've been reading Bill Bryson's books somewhat rampantly. I think it's fair to say that I love the man's work very much. I'll be starting my 6th book sometime soon and will eventually read everything he's done. Unfortunately this means that a day will come in which I will have no more of his books to devour.

So does anyone know of any authors who are quite similar to Mr. Bryson? I'd like the same sort of mixture of funny, well written work with plenty of nice little facts thrown in here and there. The more I can learn from it the better but I'd like it delivered in the same casual tone of Bill Bryson.

If you're not familiar with his work, I highly recommend you give it a go. A great book to start you off would be either A Short History of Nearly Everything

or The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid. Both books are absolutely brilliant, witty and very informative.

Just going to leave this here... moto_whistle.gif
