I didn't find it annoying when he went off topic, I just found it bizarre when he'd bump threads from months or even years ago and reply to them as though the last time they'd been posted in was the day before. I'll miss him though, I thought he was an alright guy.

He wasn't a bad guy at all. I miss the old GTAF. It was so cool back in 02, 03 and 04 when it had mostly colored posts. We didn't have so many assholes who don't accept your way of view, and quote your thread in Quotables Notables's topic showing: "Hey look at what that idiot posted".

 

So, here is my question: When are we going to return to the good old days? Some good ol' informal talk, without the "don't say this, don't say that"?

 

I always wonder if it is going to happen again.

I always wonder if it is going to happen again.

Probably never. Every forum has a prime, and GTAF has passed it.

After so many members join, things become more strict, and there's more members that you won't like. But there also may be more that you may like.

Right now it may be in its prime, and in five years, you'll say "Why can't the forum be like it was in 2011, 2012, etc...".

But in my opinion, I think it was probably better back in 04, long before I joined. Less members, everyone knows everyone, if you know what I mean. Now there's so many unfamiliar faces.

With a rising member population, there's a rising staff population, and more sub-forums are created for the population to spread out, which kind of balances things out. This happens during new GTA releases.

But the hype also brings in more members, which can be seen with GTA V. Back in 2011, there were far less members than now.

I was searching about these old topics just a few days ago, and they do seem better and funnier than nowadays's posts and posters.

 

GTAF is becoming more and more boring. Keep doing the same guys, and one day we won't be able to say "ass" or anything that might "offend" someone.

Of course we get paid, it goes on the amount of warnings and bans we issue. But the company benefits are fantastic.

Even area moderators get their fair share of perks. I got a couple of T-Shirts and a pair of underwear somebody asked me to sign. Even though I do it, that has to stop.

 

Anyway, seems like an odd question, but where do you think we'll be in terms of mobile technology in 5 or so years? With the release of the iPhone, iPad and various other tablets being released by other media conglomerates, what do we all think will be the result after 5 years of tweaking and re-designing? I always think of how far things have come in the past 10 years, and how 5 years ago some of the most influential technology was merely an after-thought.

Phone and tablets in the future may intertwined into one thing. Maybe like a device that will let you project everything out in the form of a keyboad and monitor. Scan and 3d print objects from pictures will be more widely used. E paper may replace the kindles and mags we have today.

lol, you dug up one of my posts from August, that made me remember the nice days of being new here. Everytime I made a post, I would wait like an excited puppy until it was answered, and when there was a new post in the thread, my heart would f*cking race.

Perhaps when the main users of the forum turn into adults again that can actually have a civil Informal discussion.

Too many kids here now that can't go off topic without resorting to ridiculous insults and caps loco matches.

 

I suspect before that mainly adults frequented the forum and it was a lot smaller so it was more casual and people could keep themselves in check.

I repeated myself, but my phone will not let me delete.

 

Funny thing I have noticed, pretty much every new forum begins with adult members and gradually gets overrun with kids, happens every time.

 

Anyone else noticed that?

After having a short conversation on Facebook with someone who is a teacher, I was thinking of asking this question. How much are teachers in your country paid? I am most interested in high school teachers and for lower education. In my country, teachers are generally paid between 200 and maybe 600 euros, which is approx. 250-750 US dollars. A head teacher\school principal might get between 600-1000 euros (750-1250 us dollars) in my country, but salaries have decreased in the past few years, so I'm not sure any would get the maximum salary.

I forgot to add this, we've been talking non stop for like 10 hours today (Usually we talk 10+ a day)

 

But the thing is, I'm her best friend as well. Does that change anything? That and how do I ask her to be my girlfriend?

I got an MS-70 American Silver Eagle coin graded by ANACS. I'm no coin grader, but I'm 99% sure it's not a MS-70 coin. Besides the fact I can see tiny dings and scratches here and there on the coin, there are somewhat large milk spots on the coin. I've never removed the coin from it's little case, so it's not from something I did.

 

ANACS is apparently a reputable coin grader, so I'm doubting my (non-expert) self. To my understanding an MS-70 coin is supposed to be flawless in all ways, but this one has large amounts of discoloration (the milk spots) and some dings on it.

 

Who is right, me or ANACS? I assume me, but I ask because I'm no coin grader...

Is it an old coin? If so, then you can expect it to have some dings on it despite not having been circulated. In the old days they just dumped all coins they minted together, which would be the cause of some dinging and scratching.

Looks like it is.

Why use any other engine for this generation?

For next generation gaming, I could see them using somthing different.

But as Narcis said, it will probably be on an upgraded version of RAGE.

Still, we hardly know anything about it, so who knows?
