Sorry, but anyone who plasters the swastika on themselves, their stuff or whatever representation they're using and claims the defence of "It's an ancient Buddhist symbol of peace" is an idiot. Yes, it is a symbol that was initially peaceful, but it's all about context. The symbol was appropriated by someone evil and they changed the meaning. You know the context in which it will be interpreted and you're just being an attention seeker.

Not a home remedy but you can go to your local pharmacy and pick up some Anbesol. That is the only over the counter toothache pain killer I can think of.

Anyone know good RPG's for PC? I was going to buy Dark Souls but soon discovered it's a console exclusive game. Don't mention Skyrim, because I've completed the crap out of that.

Gothic and Gothic II are brilliant RPG games exclusive to PC and I would be fully confident recommending them if they had graphics comparable to say Skyrim. Graphics aside however the gameplay is amazing, the atmosphere that is created is not to be forgotten and the combat is challenging yet fun. There is a demo of both Gothic and Gothic II if you wish to download them and check them out.

Note the part underlined and emboldened, as the Swastika can be seen to be racially offensive due its connection with the Nazi Party and it's racial views, then by default the Swastika would be deemed to be an emblem which is racially offensive.

Does anyone know of a place where you can create a free blog? This friend of mine keeps nagging me on how I should help her make one, even though I have basically no experience with blogs.

 

We tried a bunch of sites, most of which aren't very good. Wordpress doesn't support using other domains (which she has), Blogger is messed up, Weebly is to limited and so is Squarespace.

 

Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks.

But.. I recommend tumblr as it's highly customizable. A bit of a hassle in the beginning if you don't have any previous tumblr experience but once you get used to it you'll like it. It's a great facilitation for creating blogs.

I was wondering, what are profits like for each Video Game sold from a developer like Treyarch, Infinity Ward or Rockstar Games or something like that per copy.

What i mean is, If 1 game is Sold at US $60 brand new, how much of that would actually end up back with the developer after the publishers cut and shipping costs and the distributors cut is taken out. (Ignoring total development cost)

 

Just a rough guess like $5 per game or something like that?

There was a breakdown for Xbox or 360 games a little while back. I can't remember exactly, but it was something like this:

 

Costs:

 

Developer - $15

Publisher - $20

Licensing - $10

Retailer - $12

Manufacturing and Distribution - $3

Royalties - give or take

 

I may be missing something, and values are definitely not completely right, but it's an idea. Of course, the developer cost there is variable. Development costs are upfront, so the money is still actually just going to the publisher. Once development costs are covered, the money becomes profit.

 

Can someone clarify on the developer point? Does the developer actually make money other than their salary in most cases?

Max Payne 3 estimated development cost was about 100 million (Doesn't sound right, L.A Noires was lower than that and it was in Dev hell and had brand new technology developed for it too) and according to This storythis story 4million copies need to be sold to break even, so that works about at a little over $20 per copy going to Publishers, as for retailer profits it is about $8-10 reading around at retail store owners remarks.

So i answered my own question.

Retailer profit was more like 40% for games 35% for DVDs. Other than firearms (12%) and automobiles (+2% additional holdback) and furniture's (300%) total markup, Fishhooks (1000%) I don't have much other experience other than 25% for general merchandise. When you see an item on sale (not loss leader) you can expect them to be making 10%.

 

On the Swastika problem it's a case of too much power given to a minority. The symbol has been used for thousands of years by natives (Indians) and then suddenly because of one governments use it's outlawed. Disgusting.

I found a small bedbug on a shirt of mines in my closet and it was about 3 millimeters big. I looked more into the shirt and found 2 more of them, about 2 times smaller than the first one I found.

 

Should I worry about a bedbug infestation? I looked at a bunch of other clothing in my closet and looked reaaaaly close into them and didn't seem to find any more bedbugs.

 

edit- for another detail on the ones I found, they were light reddish-brown. Not dark at all.

Looked at the shirt again and turns out that the other 2 I saw was just red-colored lint I had mistaken for small bedbugs. The first one though was definitely a bedbug. I just cleaned my closet out right now looking thoroughly through each clothe and found no bedbugs whatsoever. I even checked the walls in the closet and found no cracks and holes, where bedbugs would hide. When I notice bites I'll begin to take caution. Until then I'm not gonna waste my time on this.

Dig it. I don't want to beat this horse and all. Apparently if you have any household pets they are a good place to check for bedbug bites.

 

I'm only involving myself because bedbugs creep the f*ck out of me for some reason. I guess any old timey freaky thing like bedbugs that make a return it is kind of weird.

 

It might have something to do with me thinking they were some sort of fake creature since as a kid I was put to bed every night with the saying "Sleep tight. Don't let the bedbugs bite". Honestly - didn't know they really existed as actual bugs until their recent comeback only a handful of years ago.

I know very little about games from Japan, and want to give some titles a shot. I know of Capcom, Namco, Bandai and stuff but are there any others?

 

They need to have games on the PC too btw.

I believe they inspect your prostate or whatever with their fingerbut that's pretty much it in terms of butt inspection. The rest should be what you'd go to the doctor for as a kid i.e. The stethoscope thing, ear and eye inspection, checking for any common illnesses etc.

 

You could count yourself lucky that a doctors only having a quick look in your bum anyway, I've had a male doctor fiddle around with my ballsack before.

 

E: if this is for your Finnish military service then the process might be completely different.

I would imagine they would be fairly similar in modern countries with modern health techniques, and yes this is for the Finnish service.

that's quite cool iv'e never seen a bee's tongue before! it may have used its sting but it also appears to have no wings, but may have them tucked away.

For a bumblebee it wouldn't die after stinging because they can sting multiple times, their stingers aren't barbed like a honeybees stinger is. The barbed stinger is what causes part of the honeybee's abdomen to get ripped out after pulling it out.
