So I've been having problems with my f*cking YouTube. I try to watch a video (ANY video) and it goes SSLLLOOOWW motion and the audio is out of synch. The only way to watch normally is by changing the display settings to, "240p". It f*cking sucks!

And I use Google Chrome, and my PC is Windows XP.

@sonnyBlack

Thanks mate. smile.gif

@lil weasel

Thanks for the description however 30cm seems a bit small. In The Hobbit they are able to perform actions that someone of that size could not do.

@trip

Thanks mate, that sounds about right. Can that be applied to the works of Tolkien as well? The description seems to fit the ones in the book(including the part about the goblin king).

1) Is Windows up to date

2) Is your flash player the latest version

3) Is your graphics driver the latest version

4) Have you done the usual virus and spyware scans

5) Have you defragged your Hard Drive recently

6) Have you cleared your browers cache

7) Try a different browser like Firefox or even Internet Explorer

Try those and see how you go.

There is about 35yrs difference between when The Hobbit was written and those D&D descriptions were made. I would be inclined to think that D&D got most of their stuff from Tolkien.

I know that doesn't really answer your question, but you/we may never know the answer since we are talking about fantasy/mythological creators that have no true way to define them. Its not like we can send teams of archaeologists to dig up their bones and artifacts for study.

It's all just fantasy. User your imagination and have a good time reading the works of Tolkien.

@lil weasel: The Elder Scrolls' Orc description is only valid for TES. Why don't you just answer when you really know something about the subject, instead of BINGING an answer. Most of us know how to do that already.

What's a great way to learn french from home? I'm talking about CD's, websites stuff like that. I'm asking this because this year in school (French 1) we didn't seem to learn that very well considering the flow of substitute teachers coming in and out thanks to our main teacher being pregnant and leaving in the middle of the year. After that the school hired this Haitian guy to teach us and boy was he terrible.

I want it to be an "at home" only type of thing. Thanks.

P.S: Don't bother with suggesting Rosetta Stone. It stinks.

Mockage, I cannot recommend Michel Thomas highly enough for learning French from home. His courses are brilliant, especially the French ones as he's French himself and the language is so similar to English, which goes hand in hand with his teaching method.

Thanks man icon14.gif Been reading reviews around Michel Thomas's method on the web after reading your post and have found the majority of them to quite acceptable with it. I'll be looking into this even more. Once again thanks for the suggestion. Beats the hell out of livemocha, Rosetta Stone and my new french teacher at school.

What do you call that thing were they wrap around your wrist when you're hurt? Not the cast itself, but the "white wrap" thing you see in boxers before the actual glove is put on.

They're called wrist wraps and they're made out of gauze.

Fighters wrap their hands with 6-9ft long bandages in order to keep the joints of the fingers from dislocating, or preventig fractures.

@GTAboyWonder:

Check whether Chrome needs an update, just click on the wrench and click on 'About Google Chrome'. You might also want to check whether something missed with your proxy settings: Wrench> Preferences > Advanced Preferences > Network

can smoking whilst chewing gum really raise the likelihood of gaining mouth cancer?

First I've ever heard that one...I doubt that it is true. Just sounds like one of those scare tactics left over from days of yore - especially since the world is using all sorts of techniques to prevent younger people from starting smoking.

See, this is what I was thinking, hence me asking in here, but what Gareth said makes it all plausible.

Is "Forum Leader" chosen randomly? Or by a mod/admin?

They are chosen by admins/mods, see the moderating team.

Gareth's answer does make sense.

I smoke cigarettes. I'd have to say I'm more concerned about the lung damage than the mouth damage - the lung damage seems to be the one to get ya.

Can you still make the Swastika on Black Ops without getting banned? I've seen quite a few on their recently, I'm not going to report them it's a free world, but just wondering, will they get banned if so how?

I didn't even know people got banned for that, seems a bit unnecessary to me. Some guy wants to put a swastika as his badge thing, let him.

The word "swastika" comes from the Sanskrit svastika - "su" meaning "good," "asti" meaning "to be," and "ka" as a suffix. The swastika literally means "to be good".

Too bad the Nazi came to destroy the meaning of the swastika.

Q:

Anyone know good RPG's for PC? I was going to buy Dark Souls but soon discovered it's a console exclusive game. Don't mention Skyrim, because I've completed the crap out of that.

GTA STU : Yeah I agree there.

Toup, I didn't ask for what it meant, I asked if it would get you banned. Yes I already know that but thank you, however we all know what the more recent version of it means as well... rampage_ani.gif

Well, I never took offense because someone chose to show the Swastika, precisely why I quoted that. I try to believe they mean "to be good". And, there is no recent meaning, only the one some people try to put on your head.

Most people don't know the original meaning, only as a symbol to nazism. And nazism is always related to racism, and racism is nowadays considered to be nearly the hardest things on this country. That's why, no swastikas.

The Swastika was around before Hitler.. It was a sign for religion. He just put his own spin on it..
