Short answer is yes. Anything liable to cause offence to a large number of people as an avatar or signature will get it disabled, and if you're persistent enough, you banned.

If it's yes, what about the Dixie Stars & Bars?

Pretty sure the Duke Boys did less overall harm than Hitler and the SS.

There's not really a way not to act. Just don't be boring and sit down. Have a drink, talk to people who you're going with as well as people you don't know. Chat some chicks up (or lads).

Be careful when taking pills if you're into that.

I don't wamt to get too f*ck up because I'm driving home. So no pills for me. And I guess I will have to attempt to dance. I'm blazed and will be there so that shouldn't be an issue lol idk I think I will be fine but I'm not 100%

When I go out I tend to take something to take the edge off. If you're driving then obviously don't take anything too heavy (I don't usually rake anything heavy until I'm out and offered anyway). It basically just takes the edge off. The best way to have a good time is to just forget about everything negative and just focus on the night. Socialise and chat up lasses and you'll be fine.

Just don't worry about f*cking up or whatever. Go with the flow and have a blast, that's the best way to go about it when you're going out like that.

Key words, ‘Controversy” and “cause offence”.

Ah, well… Colonel Klink and Sergeant Shultz didn’t either.

But, what about the entire Confederate States Armies? States rights and what they fought for?

(What about the symbols of the Bulldog, Celtic Cross, Hammerskins, KKK, 777, Noose, et cetra.)

Symbols are just ideals mostly held up by people (kids) who don't really know what they stand/stood for. It's a new century and old ideas are coming back? Of course there are people who are 'upset' over certain marks. People will generate hate, disgust for many marks. Suppression of thoughts is a common ideal of people who are in power, or working for power.

Short answers, are too broad is what I am getting at. :)

I've never seen a symbol that upset me or caused me discomfort. I have only thought of the broken cross as a 'foot step to Budda' (from a temple in Viet Nam.) :^:

Carry on!

I would certainly say that the Confederate flag causes a offence to a large number of people.

At least with a swastika you have the ancient religious meanings behind it rather than the Nazi stuff.

Then again, I don't really care.

Australian here. Can someone explain the significance of the Dukes of Hazzard flag and why it may be offensive?

I'm guessing it has something to do with the civil war or independence, but who does it offend and why?

Perhaps deliberately designed to cause offence would have been a better way of putting it. An actual Buddhist Swastika isn't likely to cause offence apart from to people that don't understand it and would probably be seen as OK unless someone was using it to deliberately toe the line between acceptable and unacceptable.

Confederate flag I don't have any real issue with but I can't speak for others.

Bulldog, Celtic Cross- in an of themselves fine but there are certain variations of both that will end up being removed sharpish.

KKK, Hammerskins, SS lightning bolts, SS Totenkopf, are all likely to be removed. As an aside, it isn't an issue of "censorship" as you're implying but part of the Terms of Service for our advertising partners. I know most of the advertising providers specifically mention that displaying of symbols liable to cause offence can result in them pulling support.

Let's say that I've bought a couple of games on the PlayStation Store on my PS3. It is possible to log into my PSN account from my friend's PS3 and play the games from there?

You'd have to redownload them but yes,

Australian here. Can someone explain the significance of the Dukes of Hazzard flag and why it may be offensive?

I'm guessing it has something to do with the civil war or independence, but who does it offend and why?

It is the confederate flag, the flag of the confederate army in the civil war who were for keeping slaves, so it has become a bit of a symbol of racism, even if that is a bit simplistic. An African-american individual may not appreciate this avatar for this reason, don't know about black people outside of the US, because they may not know it as the confederate flag. However it was a sort of symbol of hate that if you saw on someone's wall could signify that "this person is a racist prick" but has become more acceptable due in part to things like the dukes of hazard, so now if they see it they think like you "oh he likes the Dukes of Hazard."

Funny thing is here in the UK it can actually cause offense to put up the Union Jack, on any other occassion other than a royal wedding, royal death, corrination, royal visit, royal birth or a royal flush. This is because of similar reasons, even though the teeny minority of the people who display the flag actually support themyou can get accused of supporting the BNP, sounds stupid I know but I have seen it happen, This whole confederate flag thing is a similar box of frogs but it works the other way; it was a flag that signified hate that gained a positive reputation rather than the Union Jack that was a positive flag for most but was bastardised.

This is also answering LW's question, as said some people here get angry over our national flag because of the BNP bastardising it. If any non-brits here don't know who the BNP is they are basically a political party in the UK that wants to kick out anyone who is not 'British' and they have a well-founded reputation of being racist c*nts.

I live in Gettysburg for half of each year, and people fly that sh*t off the back of their pick-up trucks like it's normal business. I don't think you'll see more Confederate flags than in that town, but mainly, we all make fun of it. There are some Southerners who come up for tours who are a bit more hardcore, but it's generally a big joke.

I've never met someone that flies the confederate flag who is not a racist, but i'm sure one or two exist out there. Usually they will say "Heritage not hate" but then behind closed doors show their true colours.

But I was told there were no Jews left here. We need to bring back Aadrian to the staff.

On a serious note, I think I saw members with Hitler avatars and nobody said a thing about that, or at least so I think.

I can name numerous users with Hitler avatars. I would say that could cause offence for a large number of people and is intentional.

I suppose it's kind of a blurred line. I'd say Hitler on his own isn't really offensive enough for his picture to be banned as an avatar, but if you're using it along with Nazi slogans in your member title and obviously going out of your way trying to be offensive, then that's probably where you'll get in trouble.

It seems as if no one took my question seriously. Perhaps I needed to add a few more details about it. Link to the original question: http://gtaforums.com/topic/483511-have-a-question-v2/?p=1064326008

It all started when I first played this Far Cry mod called "Ultraball", it is apparently based on the game "Speedball 2". So I was playing this mod when I came across a poster in the game. It was this woman. I tried to source the texture, found it, but it was a combination of posters. Google'd the cropped image of the women, found nothing relevant. I have this strange urge to know the name of this woman, her profession, her biography etcetera. I'd be really grateful if someone helps me here.

Probably because the posts are repetitive and don't contribute in the slightest to the forum. There's no advantage to having a thread like that lingering around when the responses are vague and crappy.

That thread was basically just a "spam by saying something obvious about the person above without facing the usual consequences for spamming".
