Booze Posted October 16, 2012 Share Posted October 16, 2012 (edited) What is up with The Bee shield? I haven't gotten it yet but I see many people on the Gearbox forums complaining about it. Is it that OP? Yeah, it is. It would surprise me if they don't patch it somewhere in the near future. I'll explain it here, but it might spoil it for people, so I'll put it in spoiler tags: The Bee adds incredibly high amp damage (around 50 K) without draining the shield, so as long as you have a full shield, you'll get the added damage. The damage is added to every bullet, rocket or shotgun pellet. That means that if you have a shotgun that fires 7 pellets, you'll get a damage bonus of 7x50K. That is insane in and of itself, but combined with the Conference Call shotgun, it gets downright ridiculous. This shotgun's base pellet count is your regular 5-7, but its special ability is that it fires extra shots from the sides, multiplying the pellet count by 3. So the added damage is 5-7 x 3 x 50K, which comes down to around 900K damage per shot. This is on top of the shotgun's base damage, which is pretty high too, but at that point kind of trivial . He's called Hyperius the Invincible. He actually stands true to his name, because I can't beat him with The Bee and conference call combo. He might be one of those four level 50s kind of boss. Who's played both, what do you prefer??? Now bearing in mind that when I asked players on BL1, Borderlands or Fallout 3, they said Borderlands wereas I knew Fallout 3 was the superior game all round, so be truthful please. Because of cost, I have other games I want too, and i'm still in 2 minds about Borderlands 2 for reasons stated above. Then again Dishonoured looks alot like Bioshock Infinate too, i'd probably prefer to get BL2 and leave Dishonoured until price drop or pre owned. Was thinking about purchasing my first ever Season Pass for a game. Still though, 3600 points for four campaign DLCs and a new character ain't a bad deal. How long does it take to complete Captain Scarlett? When I heard the song below while roaming around Arid Nexus Badlands, memories of Borderlands 1 came flashing onto me. I felt so nostalgic even though that game was released just two years ago. Memories of following Claptrap into Fyrestone to going after Sledge. Then after that New Haven, Kram, the Crimson Lance and finally the Vault. Really digging the soundtrack. And another masterpiece for the soundtrack. Made the slaughter rounds way more enjoyable. I like how Gearbox don't take themselves too seriously. You know what I miss from the old Borderlands? The feel of the revolvers in Borderlands 1. The revolvers in this game just doesn't suit well to me. I miss my old Atlas Patton Revolver from the previous game. S&S Munitions and the Atlas weapons aren't included in this sequel, which is a shame though. S&S Munitions made some fine sniper rifles and the Atlas weapons were holy in a way. I played through 1 as Mordekai(sp?) which is strange for me because i'm never a sniper in any game, but his use of snipers and revolvers was awesome, the revolvers had alot of power, maybe too much. Are they a bit weaker now or just a different feel??? I'm gonna pick this up tomorrow BTW. Thanks El_Diablo for the shortness tip, I will wait for price drop on Dishonoured. Everything is levelled to your level when you first enter in it? Found out the end part of the story gets hairy and 50's will occasionally spawn even if it's a 46 mission so yeah. Also I have entered DLC code for Creature arena (or W/E it's called) but see no sign off it in my downloaded DLC's, is this actually availiable yet? I got the Premier Club edition so no preorder for Mechromancer, that is actually listed twice in my DLC's list, once just as "Mechromancer" (which is free) and my downloaded one which also has a relic, key and gearbox weapon pack. I guess the free one is just the character??? Edit: It really is a good sequal better than the first. Sorry but could anyone give me a link to where I can register a Shift account? Had a 2-Day Gold Membership pass, figured I used it for the weekend to try out this badass game online. Had a friend of mine helped me complete that last slaughter round of Hyperion. That was satisfying to complete, got a sweet Bandit assault rifle out of it. Continued on to complete the rest of the side missions to get the achievement. But lame, Terramorphus is considered part of the complete all side missions achievement. Damn it. Simular to the Lascaux As you can see it drained my cash 1.2 mil, luckily when you're high level everything sells quite high. Also some Key guns: @mrpain: You join SHIFT via the 'Extras' menu on the main menu, not sure if you can connect if you're still on XBL Sliver. I am not aware of any browser site to join up to SHIFT. I finally got to the wildlife preserve on my 2nd playthrough to find jimmy jenkins, so I have him now and 1000/1000 achievements. The problem is I just thought I may as well finish the story off, got stuck in Sawtooth Couldron, I kept getting spawn killed by the ambush squad at the bottom of the elevator/lift. Even with being level 50 and having an infinite ammo pistol, conference call, the bee shield and an artifact giving +27% shotgun damage, I still couldnt do sh*t to these f*ckers. I am sorry but I do not want a game to be that f*cking stupidly hard. First time through it was piss. Because they added in new enemy variants in the 2nd playthrough, it just makes it a f*cking c*nt. A level 52 regular bandit it wouldnt matter, but some of these enemies were still 48 and 49 and I just couldnt do sh*t. And I was playing alone so they should have been even easier. I refuse to let this game turn into halo where you have to shoot 50 magazines at someone to kill them. It is just no fun. This game has gotten its last drop of 'give a f*ck' out of me. Booze Posted October 21, 2012 Share Posted October 21, 2012 I played the entirety of the first and second (True Vault Hunter mode) playthrough in co-op and the entire time I found it too easy. This is not a dig at your skills, because the few times I did try it on my own it was arguably much harder. When one player is about to give up because it's too hard and the other is about to do the same because it's too easy, it means that this game severely needs a difficulty adjust like you can find in Bethesda games. I actually like it, I found BL1 so easy even during playthrough 2.5. I agree some enemies are stupidly tough such as creatures (they're so relentless) and Buzzards as it's impossible to get a second wind if they're the only enemies left. You just have to play it smart and really put to use a good setup. Slagging enemies via skills are almost vital and fighting with opposing elemental weapons. Fire against Flesh, Corrosive/Explosive against Armor and although not as necessary Shock against Shields. I hardly ever use normal bullet guns except for sniper rifles/shotguns and Tediore branded guns because they're not as effective compared to DoT (Damage over time) by a status effect. I do miss playing around with plain Dalh pistols and other "fun guns". EDIT: New codes.
