I think it can go up to the high 80's without much problems.

My old GT 220 went up to 105 C for unknown amount of minutes, but it still reacted normal wink.gif

My GTX570 goes up to 80C when playing and 35-40 when idle. Although I have no idea how my airflow in the case is.

nVidia videocards are always hotter then AMD's, those are more louder if you ask me wink.gif

Nvidia cards are hotter but quieter. They've stated they aimed for quieter acoustics rather than slightly lower temperatures. Atleast, with Fermi. 105C is way too hot for a GT 220, heck I'm not even going to ask how you managed to get such a weak card that hot.

 

 

Generally, anything under 85C is fine. Above that isn't recommended but will rarely cause damage anyway because the graphics card has thermal protections in place (throttling etc).
