Plus, I went to London, and its HUGE, therefore would be hard to scale down, harder considering there would be nothing made up. It would be the same atmosphere as Liberty City was in IV, it's time to go somewhere sunnier as Vice City or San Andreas, not again that greedy-dark theme as IV was. If it is London Rockstar can pull it off. Probablt Better than LC. AND THE ORIGINAL GTA Had EXPANSION PACKS that Was SET IN LONDON. That would be the best part of GTA: London. I'd spend the first hour of the game getting in on the wrong side of the car. It's all topsy-turvy, guvna! Seriously, though, if Brits are this sensitive about stereotypes, then they REALLY shouldn't hope GTA is set in the UK. I'm the lest sensitive person in the world and GTA pisses even me off from time to time. I got genuinely sick of hearing Niko complain about crime. It already has been twice in fact, but they were add ons for GTA 1. So the argument that GTA is only "American" is in fact a flawed logic. IMO London has never being given justice. The Getaway games were close, but R*'s interpretation of London would be so much better. As for it being similar to LC. Is that a bad thing? GTA IV's LC is brilliant. It's funny, because I never really liked the dark and gloomy atmosphere in GTA III, but I did in GTA IV. I'm assuming a GTA set in London would be similar, but not entirely the same. I still think VC will be the next location, but there's no reason why London can't be used at some point. Quit being so ignorant and look out side of the square. While I do feel that GTA needs to stay in America and satirize American culture, I don't think London would be impossible. If anything, that'd be the only non American location that could work. Someone needs a chill pill........ anyway, I think a GTA outside of america would be ok, but i don't think it would happen just because it could do some damage to the franchise if they don't do it right, just wouldn't be worth it for rockstar to risk it. Has nothing to do with it being outside of the US, Barcelona, or Rio de Janeiro would be cool.. anywhere with a tropical feel... At least on part of the map. that also has mountains.. Haha. Noone's reality is. I'm British so I can't really criticise a country that has spent too long meddling in world affairs for its own good (and to their detriment). There are two main reasons for that. 1) We invented it, 2) The Union of States is a direct result of that meddling (blame the Dutch too, of course). Is there any reason why that should feature in this thread? No, there isn't. GTA simply amplifies the best of everything and the worst of everything; that's what games/films/novels do. Leicestershire would be a brilliant place to set the game, considering the St Matthews estate in Leicester, UK has the most cultures living in it that anywhere else in the UK, also there are well over 80 different languages spoke there. Just like Kwandilibro said, I'm not against a GTA London... but i agree with one thing: if R* someday ever want to search for suitable places for the next GTAs, London is a very likely place to be picked, as well as (IMO) the USA-Mexico frontier, or even Australia ... these are the places OUTSIDE USA that i wouldn't mind playing in a GTA. But, for now, i think that USA still has a lot of potential to be explored by the GTA series, and don't take this the wrong way, but i hope that the next 3 or 4 GTAs should be still placed inside USA. After that, or when the series reaches a stage when there's nothing "left" in USA, then R* could take it to those countries I've mentioned up there... (London, USA-Mex.
