Can anyone explain why Niko imports all his envelopes in such a messed up manner? They come in absolutely huge and don't seem to pertain to any of the bones whatsoever. For example, there's no order to them. They are just bunched together, and the fingers will influence verts on the face or the neck. Very annoying, as it'll require a complete remap of weights going by verts.

can someone help me. When I import the file upper_000_u all bones are mixed as in the image (the finger is on the arm)

I FIX this, Was using 3ds2013. I'm using 3ds 2012 now and worked!!!

I search everywhere n I find no issue

hello, i´v trying to edit player model and can not get gims working, i followed this tutorial


and i´m jammed in section 3 of this tutorial, i did not find 3ds max 2012 or 2010 version and i downloaded the 30 day free trial of 2015 version.



problem is when i try to start gims it says error message as


"file open failed c:\program files\autodesk\3ds max 2015\gims iv.mse"



my project is to only change the player height as high as some buildings( 4-5 floor) so i can build whit trainer 6.5 object robot whit game objects which are all ready have correct dimensions, is this even possible whit this program, or could it be done different way and not as complicated as i am trying?

I want to use some peds clothes from gta iv/eflc and add them to Niko, Johnny and Luis. for example I tried to add this blue jacket to Niko by replacing one of his jackets. however, when I rigged this jacket to Niko's bones, it became a bit "rough" - you can see it on the arms at the 2nd picture.

I know this is too late to ask, but, I was wondering, did you fixed that jacket later on? And do you still got it?

I'm still active on the forum and follow all threads where I posted something, so it's not too late 😉

I didn't fix the problem but at least I kinda understand why this happens. every time I choose some clothing item (like this jacket), I erase it's skeleton and then attach it to player's (in this case Niko's) skeleton.  then the item "adjusts" a bit and this happens..

 

I tested a bunch of mods created by other people and all of them have the same problem. but I realised it's not a big distortion if the model is more detailed, like models in V or players models in IV/EFLC. peds models in IV (like this jacket) are not well detailed, and in that case it shows.. so my idea would be to either leave it as is, or try to fix a couple of these polygons by moving/rotating them, or making the jacket more detailed, like adding more vertices/polygons (this can be done in 3ds max, but I'm not sure how) and then attach it to other skeleton. it that case distortion sould be much smaller, and thus tolerable.

 

I have done several backups on my computer, so unfortunately my gta mods are scattered all over the place. I'm not sure if I even have it anymore, as I wasn't happy with the result. but I could try do do it again, it could be a good warm-up before (if) we get RDR2 on pc. I always loved that jacket, especially because Niko had it in some trailer or in beta so it would be cool to have in game.
