Recommended Posts

There's a safehouse thread but not in the way i'm meaning it, previous threads have talked about what can be used as a safehouse and having more variety of houses

here im talking specificlly about extended options of things to do in safehouses like cooking, having friends over, maintenence work on vehicles, along with TV's and compters from IV and EFLC but more more channels and more internet websites

post any ideas you've came up with for more things to do in safehouses

the only way i would like this to happen is if the protagonist has a double life, which won't happen.

video games were already included as an aspect of safehouses in GTA San Andreas, in the Johnson House.

I love the idea of having a garage where you could tinker with your own cars, add bullet prove glass, nitro, chips, racing wheels and tyres, James bond style ejector seats devil.gif . Parts could be bought, stolen or found around the city.

I would like the thought of having a gun cabinet where you store weapons collected but have to decide which ones to take out with you on any particular day.

I have always thought it would be a great idea to have a PS1 at a safehouse where you could play the first top down view GTA game on!!! Tell me that isn't a good idea cool.gif

....and maybe a bong that if used would make the graphics go a bit funky and the music extra loud

good point, and enough things to do in the house to cover the basics and also feel like a home, i mean criminals are people too (no matter how homicidal they may be) and im sure they all love time at home like we all do, my whole point is that i'd like to be able to use most the things R* puts in our safehouses like chairs, kitchens, bathrooms (where you can do options like change clothes or change hair like in SA), maybe even change stations on the radio for once lol. id love to be able to do all that but like you said without it becomeing GTA: Sims

I don't see why there couldn't be a cutdown version of the original GTA on a console in the safehouse - it doesn't need to go full-screen...

My wishes for safehouse utilities are:

- Go to the fridge to grab that energetic drink or a snack, in order to recover some of your lost health;

- Have the ability to repair popped tires of your vehicles, by parking them into your garage, and then do the dirty job, like in the "Puncture Wounds" mission back in San Andreas;

- Show the saving icon near the bed, so you actually HAVE to be lying in the bed in order to save the game, and after doing it, show an animation of the protagonist getting of the bed;

- Definitely that having some more entertaining things to spend some time to would be great, like use the TV to watch the News... it would be awesome if the protagonist, after escaping from the police and returning home, he would be able to turn the TV on and actually SEE THE REPLAY OF HIS OWN PURSUIT on the TV! lol.gif It would be just awesome guys... or either have a News show like it happens on those famous talk radios from some GTAs, but instead of only HEAR the news, you could WATCH them on the TV, like seeing news about some of the things that the protagonist preforms on his missions, like "today was found a container ship deserted and full of bodies, the FBI is investigating..." something like this huh!

- Use a fictional Internet would be awesome, and even more awesome would be if you could access the Ammu-Nation website and order some guns! Of course that you would have to give your address... and after some hours, a van appears on the outside with your delivery!! (this is also a great idea of a side mission, don't you think?)... if R* is going to implement this, then they also should think of having some kind of crime related with that Internet functionality... cool.gif

- ...basically, that's what i would like to see developed! Hope i might get lucky with some of these wishes...

In order to increase the immersion, every single window in every single building that is visible from the windows of your apartment should be animated, with people doing stuff inside them; working, living, screwing etc.

This will give you the impression that every apartment is inhabited even though it is not.

You can snipe them all as well. tounge.gif

I have a few proposals for Grand Theft Auto V (or... whatever it'll be called):

  • Television- Watching TV in GTA IV, TLAD and TBoGT was always a fun time and a good time passer. But, the small amount of shows made watching television boring enough where you know all the words each character says. Maybe five more shows with four episodes each would expand the TV concept. Maybe even throwing in a TV guide would help you find what you want to watch.

  • Video games- Video games ready for play on a console, like the one in the Johnson House in GTA SA, would make a great return in the next GTA. This would keep players entertained with a new experience of gaming. Maybe a few ideas of video games could be Pong, a platformer, a space shooter, QUB3D, etc.

  • Internet access- The Internet was very whacky yet incredibly histerical in GTA IV, TLAD and TBoGT. Not only should computers be accessable throughout the game, but a laptop should be ready for use in the safehouse. Some websites available and interactable on the Internet could be a Mailbox, a search engine, a dating service, a ringtone and wallpaper service, a police database, a New York Times replica, a TMZ relpica, a Craigslist replica, etc.

  • Stereo- Radio stations in vehicles from just about every GTA game is a nice idea and it should expand to the safehouses. A stereo should be available in the safehouse, where the player can cycle through the in-game radio stations, until he/she finds one that they like. San Jaun Sounds was always playing on the stereo in TBoGT, but not every player likes that genre of music. But with this proposal, they can listen to whatever the hell the want, whether it is rock music or a talk show.

  • Replenishing health- The player should be able to replenish their health either sleeping on the bed in the safehouse or by eating food from the fridge, for a small price. Running around the whole map in search of a Cluckin' Bell or Burger Shot is time consuming and annoying. But now, you can fill your health bar in the comfort of your own safehouse.

  • Weapon storage- You know what sucks? When you come across a weapon and you cannot add it to your weapon cache because you have a weapon of the same type. When you do not want a weapon over one of the same type, you should be able to store it in a weapon storage in your safehouse. So, whenever you're at your safehouse, you can just swap weapons for others using the storage unit.

Weapon crates to place some weapons in so if the police kill you and you don't want to cheat you can go get re-armed.

Good idea. They shouldn't go crazy with customisation though, I think choosing a general theme for your safehouse would be enough to give it a personal theme without turning it into GTA sims, kind of like Fallout 3.

Win.

Anyway's, I like the idea of buying a hair cut model and select different one's in your bathroom.

I also hope the protagonist look's like Sam Fisher.

But we all can dream...

This is an old thread I made a while ago but after watching the trailer again maybe there's some relevance here? The protagonist talks about buying a big home, so maybe you can do a lot of home like things like we saw in Gta IV and more.

Since he sounds like a family man I wouldn't be surprised if we were able to do more family or home oriented things like parties, relaxing, and fixing up the car (and posting on gtaforums biggrin.gif )

the sims do not want sad.gif

It sounds very sims like, but more and more game makers seem to go for realisticness of the environment; and having a safe house look, act, and interact like an actuall home and not just a cave to save your game in would be a step in The right direction

Oh so being able to eat at home rather than the hotdog vendor is sims like? Bitch please.

Having a pool table in your 'home' would be great, you could invite friends over and play pool, rather than always having to meet them and go somewhere.

GTA home haircuts.

Home haircuts are never a good idea, even in a video game.

Open the barbers for our hair and we just shave our face.
