Hey guys, I was wondering. What is your favorite John Hughes movie?

My favorite is probably Breakfast Club, with Weird Science coming up at a close second.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Uncle Buck are my favorites that he's directed.

Of his strictly written work, I got to go with Home Alone 1&2, The Great Outdoors, and especially Mr. Mom.

I pretty much echo this.

Watched Uncle Buck yesterday actually. icon14.gif

I count 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' as one of my favourite films ever. Then I like 'Pretty in Pink' for some reason and Uncle Buck is just a great film to watch. One of John Candy's finest performances.

I stopped reading after that. Dude, stop doing whatever it is you do, and go watch that movie RIGHT NOW.

Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day off and Planes, Trains & Automibles are my faves.

  • 3 weeks later...

It's a toss up between Uncle Buck and Sixteen Candles, and I just love them both too much to decide.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Best one in my opinion.

NRVOUS.

Oh, and by the way... Abe Froman, the Sausage King of Chicago.

"Call me sir god damn it!" lol.gif

Uncle Buck was awesome because you don't usually think of John Candy as intimidating, but he was pretty un-f*ck-with-able in that movie, while still being his charming, kind and funny self.

Ever since seeing Uncle Buck, I've always wanted to make giant pancakes with a pizza oven. I'd say that, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, PT&A, and Weird Science are my favorites. I could never really get into some of his others, like Breakfast Club or Pretty in Pink.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

I'll have to say Uncle Buck, that is one of my favourite movies. John Candy is brilliant in it.

This morning I found Weird Science on VHS in the trash.

Still had the sleeve and everything.

Score.

Now all you need to do is find a VCR in the trash.

I always forget to include Weird Science in my John Hughes faves. Another fine classic.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off is simply one of my favorite movies ever. I think The Breakfast Club comes in as a close second.

I recently watched the documentary, Don't you forget about me, where a few younger people try to get in touch with John Hughes. They write him a letter and try to get an interview, but in the end he doesn't talk to them. It was a pretty good documentary, and I was really hoping they would get an interview with John, but it was a no go.

Unfortunately, John died soon after the movie was made.
