Yeah, I have been looking earlier already. Quite some weeks ago I got a 10 mb update on xbox live. Which was weird. Because usually it's 4 mb. I haven't found anything yet. But, they could easily replace an advertising texture in Star Junction for example

 

Also, don't forget the FREE Fan Appreciation DLC coming out soon for RDR. It could contain more clues for GTA V. And I am definitely going to take a visit at Bear Claw Camp then. If the GTA V announcement hasn't been done already at that time

doubt it, it could be for ps3 and pc maybe itll take while or maybe its just because my cache got fill and it deletes old updates to make space i think anyways.

It's all circumstantial. Liberty City could have been a (logical) lucky guess and the timing before the first trailer could have been purely coincidental. I'm not really too good at analysing people's words and things so maybe if you or somebody else could highlight the specific parts of his stories that related directly to the trailers then I think the arguement could still be swayed in your favour for me but as it stands I see nothing to suggest any inside knowledge on the part of the deepthroat character or the admins.

MOB may have a point. I haven't read this forum in a long time - I was a lurker around the time deepthroat posted in 2007 then stopped reading - so I don't know the answer to this question, so I'll ask it of those long-term posters (especially the ones who posted on "where is the blue"): how much do you trust the admins in what they're saying on this thread?

 

I'm asking because your answers may help me decide between the two theories I have about this thread. My theories are:

 

1. This is a game by the admins for us.

2. This is a game for us AND the admins.

 

 

@Paddster: everything so far has been speculation. The main ideas people have are that the picture is proof that:

 

1. The game will take place in Texas/RDR

2. The game will take place in Vice City

3. The game will take place in SA

4. People will waste their time on the slightest thing

5. Agent is the next GTA

 

I might have missed out a few.

A pretty common Russian name though in fact if people were asked to name a typical Russian in Family Fortunes fashion I'd say without a shadow of a doubt the top answer would be a toss up between Vladimir, Sergei and Ivan.

 

If nobody was predicting Liberty City at that time then I'm sorry to say but they were idiots. I find it extremely hard to believe that not one person suggested it though.

So what if its a typical Russian name? So was it a lucky guess he mentioned Russians in the first place? Theres other stuff in the posts too.

 

How could anyone possibly guess that the logo would be IV with the manhattan skyline in? Ths logo appeared at the end of the trailer that was shown 3 weeks after this deepthroat post. You can't guess something like that.

 

It blows my mind that people can put this down as a lucky guess? Honestly? Thats more to Zee than you.

 

People were predicting Chicago and London. Liberty took everyone by surprise.

My point was that there being a Vlad in GTA IV and a Vlad in his story was a pure coincidence. He could have used any number of popular Russian names and would have struck a match in the game... Dimitri, Vlad, Sergei, Ivan.. all in there. And I already gave a possible solution for the skyline in the V. Why are you trying so hard to defend the Admins anyway? If this were just a game which it more than likely is then the more you believe otherwise the more decieved and hard done by you're going to feel. Just accept it's a game and have fun with it. Lifes too short for stressing over internet games man.

He also guessed NOOSE though.

Unless I'm missing something, deepthroat mentions N.O.O.S.E once, in December 2007, but N.O.O.S.E had already been revealed as the name for SWAT in trailer two (released June 2007). He also gets the acronym wrong.

 

@Andrea: I agree that the risk was just a hook for his story (and also a reason for the OTT action). I don't think he said he was a Rockstar employee.

 

The only thing that could be outright proof of inside information is the fact he guessed where GTA IV would be and what the logo would look like. There are a few other things he seems to have got right, but also a lot of things he got wrong.

It's very obvious. I think the reason everyone's so excited is that the appearance of deepthroat the last time was a few weeks before the new game was announced. People hope the same thing will happen now.
