Believe it or not, I think you all will miss this time, yes even THIS time, when the game is a total unknown. I remember the build up to SA and IV as pretty much the

only games I have given a s**t about, yes it is wearing a little on everyones nerves but I very confident we will hear in the first half of next year.

 

Of course, there will be plenty to moan about when we finally do hear some details - one pre xmas teaser pic tho R* mmmh ? MP3 sales wont be affected by a tidbit of info.

Is it wise for them only to leave 6 months before release to announce a title as big as V?

Six months does only seem like a short amount of time considering the length we've waited between GTA games, but I think Rockstar could pull it off. When they were marketing LA Noire it was a full blown effort, and even now with Max Payne 3 they are releasing information left right and centre and it'll be out in just over five months . GTA would already have the fan base, so a surprise announcement or a sneak peak and they would have people's tongues wagging within one month let alone six.

Rockstar need not worry about the length of time to market V, the fans are marketing the game for them already. There is so much hype surrounding any possible announcement at the moment, that all Rockstar need to do is give it 3 or 4 months marketing and they'll still do well.

It will still do well, no dispute there. But could it do even better with a longer build up?

 

The reason they will do "well" (however you define that), is because they have a lot of harcore fans as you say. There will be a lot of potential people on the fringes who they will have to work a bit harder to convert. 3 - 4 months of marketing may well be enough, but perhaps 12 would do even better?

Unlikely. Take2's predictions on share price earnings for the next fiscal are only realistic if there is a GTA franchise release in that period.

I wish there was a way they could 'leak' out information without making it official. For example, if Sam Houser said something along the lines of 'We've been researching Los Angeles for the past year for a new upcoming game.' It would be speculation amongst the general media, but fans would know the truth.

Sadly, that seems likely because to be honest I don't really see the next gta being release in late 2012, they will probably intend it to be release at that time but then they will delay it into early 2013 like so many of there titles. Do anyone know when this current gen ends because by time agent come out this current gen of consoles will be at the end of it's phase ?
