friendly luggage
Ok I've had this problem since I've first had this game and it happens on all texture qualities. I've also tried different texture filter qualities but the problem still happens. This bug/glitch whatever you want to call it seems to happen in the same areas. So if I loaded up GTA IV now and drove to the place in the picture, the same thing would happen. My specs (yes I know they're outdated and insuffecient to play GTA IV at optimum levels) Pentium 4 530 (3Ghz with HT on) 3GB DDR2 ram Nvidia GeForce 9400GT 512MB (DDR2) Windows XP SP3 32bit Fine Bad
Girish
I wouldn't call that a bug. It's most probably due to your weak system being unable to load textures quickly. The only things I can suggest is to reinstall the game and use the 4th patch, which is the best patch performance wise, and update your video drivers. Don't use any mods. friendly luggage
Ahh ok thanks for the reply but if I move the camera slightly the textures load. It's quite wierd. Anyway is there maybe a commandline fix. Isn't there some sort of formula where you have the vram of your graphics card times by something else. I remember reading a topic but I can't remember the name or where it is It was on GTA Forums somewhere though.
Girish
That topic's pinned at the top of this very forum. Link - http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=404147 Not sure if it'd help, though. You can give it a shot.
friendly luggage
Well I created a commandline with only -memrestrict 629145600 in it. The textures seem to load fine now. Havn't had any problems since
